  1. I’ll even buy that he got in his own head somehow but find it incredibly improbable that he intentionally blew the 40 putting up a lesser measurable intentionally
  2. I meant generally that he was the best piece of clay. Which adding a 4.4 forty instead of 4.7 would’ve majorly underscored he was drafted for freak show potential compared to the other 3 more polished guys. You really don’t think adding a great 40 to the best arm would’ve made him a more premium prospect?
  3. Why do you suppose the guy leaning most heavily on his athleticism in the draft not actually trying?
  4. So the length of the drive and quality of the hit effect your take? What if it’s the first play of the drive and a huge defensive play? You suddenly feel differently about who earned possession compared to a player being reckless?
  5. Wouldnt creating a fumble be a great defensive play, and frankly more worthy of earning possession than a player that doesn’t show care for the ball?
  6. I mean, I’d say that the comment about not really beating them with his arm is more right than wrong. Still beat them though.
  7. Essentially the rule rule boils down to the idea that pushing the ball across the goal line comes with both great reward (and benefits like the play instantly stopping with offensive possession in the end zone) but also a corresponding risk. If you secure the ball in the end zone it’s an instant touchdown but if you lose the ball you assume responsibility go secure it or face a likewise strong penalty. The penalty itself follows basic corresponding situatuations. The nfl likes the consistent application of impetus here. While a 5-10 yard penalty and maintaining possession may make more sense on a quick casual level, I do understand the thought process behind where the actual rule comes from.
  8. Unless you change the rule to generally not allowing an offense to advance fumbles and they get the ball at the spot of the fumble anywhere on the field there’s going to be an inconsistency compared to what happens with a fumble at the 1. As is, “the ball goes out of the end zone is treated like a touchback” isn’t insane levels of strange
  9. I’d disagree that they did NOTHING to get the ball. honestly, the rule is quirky but I don’t mind it
  10. And being third down about to go up 2 scores that late in the game.... whyyyyy would you run him at a stout defense by design?!? Gotta protect the guy there.
  11. He only completed 4(?) passes after the first quarter. Even with gifting him drops and penalties you are looking at 6? 7? completions in 3 quarters. He will definitely have to step up but you take wins how you can get them with a young guy and he got it
  12. Yup - baby steps. And why I want to stress not bashing him- ultimately another win which is big. Not losing games, and hanging tough all day is the first step to becoming a guy that wins games for a team.
  13. I’m by no means trying to bash him but reality is he completed 8 total passes. After the 1st quarter he was 4/14 for less than 50 yards, right? He was tough, he’s a gritty kid, he didn’t have a lot of favors go his way.... and he won the game! But I think it’s ok to say it wasn’t a big passing day unless you are used to historically bad passing weeks. Dude helped will a win but it wasn’t his arm carrying the day any way you cut. It
  14. Kid played gritty today but was still 42% for 160 yards passing. He gets some credit, but can’t say he put on a qb clinic or anything.
  15. Would’ve waited til the kicker showed his hand to call that
  16. Don’t love the read option there
  17. I’m glad to see him snag a few since coming back. I suspect not a major change in the player from the practice squad time as much as returning to the norm. He won’t drop EVERYTHING, but will drop more than most. Just having credible speed will help a lot across the offense.
  18. And in a strictly business level - if she did make stuff like this up multiple times including once that hadmajor impact on him... he’s got to stay away. Either he did it (terrible) or he’s lacking the judgement to cut ties with those that’ll bring him down (less terrible but bad business for an nfl franchise)
  19. Sounds like the same girl, maybe? Jeeeze. Both of them.
  20. Since we are all the dead money he’s a great candidate He will have played for them under a 1 year 9m contract and have little consequence to cut if they do. Not bad for a 5th Except KB
  21. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and still blame the booze for your hot takes
  22. In a thread mocking people for thinking he might be better than McD... well....
  23. To be fair, I doubt he’s up on the latest nfl trends
  24. They are also playing smart situational football and converting 4th downs. Extending drives is major in both the TOP and scoring.
