  1. I guess feel free to share one of those
  2. Flip side- if allen is the dude, hitting that list perfectly become far less essential
  3. I can’t wait til next year when if something goes wrong we will have posters arguing this was the tear down year and next year is the first year rebuilding
  4. more importantly if we take the hit this year we are just carrying over less cap. It’s taking money out of one pocket and putting it in your other and thinking you changed your net worth.
  5. Edelman was still moving forward. Also, who thinks a still frame is productive for discussing whether guys are moving?
  6. As if it couldn’t possibly be him too?
  7. Also fair. Counterpoint - I don’t think there’s a team in the league without soft spots on their defense and I think that last lines a bit cliche, personally. Outside of a great qb, there are plenty of ways to build a contender and that includes cutting corners at nearly any position group as long as you properly scheme and plan for it The best run stopper in a decade of colts football mightve been Peyton Manning as an example of non-conventional ways to control the inside of the trenches. They were able to scheme for shootouts on both sides.
  8. The assertion that in another year or so he shouldn’t be competing is pretty fair. He’d be 43 during the regular season 2 years from now
  9. Kendricks was also on the PFWA All Rookie team his first year and brown honestly didn’t change drastically through the years.
  10. You can have a good D and think an element is overpaid
  11. Suoer smarmy... The offense is advancing the ball, they pushed it into the end zone out of control, and in turn have the responsibility to regain possession- not that crazy. If they do they get the highest prize in the game. If they don’t, the other team successfully defended the goal line. It’s not like any of that is super crazy. Given things like the play immediately stopping as soon as a controlled ball touches the goal line I think this helps balance things out. If you are going to stretch the ball out with reduced risk of fumble (plays dead as soon as it crosses) then I’m ok giving the defense some help and putting the impetus on the offense to recover after reckless play there.
  12. The goal line has all kinds of special rules, and with the biggest rewards come the biggest risks.
  13. I think it signifies that Allen is an entrenched starter going into next year, and Barkley’s a fine enough backup that gets along with everyone.
  14. I’m not anti the move or anything.... just surprised by the reactions. He’s a fine enough backup qb. I just like to leave some room to get even more excited about guys that will hopefully take a snap.
  15. By half you mean about 25% at each end of the spectrum?
  16. Barkleys is a relatively interchangeable backup qb. If he counts as huge I’m not sure what’s minor
  17. Ha! Sorry? Thought it a reasonable tax discussion. Not like kirbs going to get some crazy bill
  18. Define “huge”
  19. To be fair, if you think you are a better team- steady and competent isn’t as scary as explosive and unpredictable. one of my favorite (and least favorite) stats was our record with Scott chandler having “big games.” We weren’t good because he wasn’t putting up big plays. Easy to contain volume stats are fine if you are confident you are going to score. If I were gameplanning again allen I’d say make him throw a ton of short/intermediate passes. Bills might still win but if he’s running and gunning a volatile outcome of buffalo upsetting seems more likely
  20. Nor can it signal that going for it is a bad choice.
  21. Any good businessman realizes that 3rd strong nfl qb is waaaaay better business than intern at some random company
  22. Itll still be rather friendly. But not $200 a year. Kirb will get the first $75k in value tax free with the homestead exemption but we’re talking like $2k not $200 (real bar-napkin is pull the $75k if you get the exemption then it’s 1% ish) the table he was referencing reflected a $15k valuation
  23. Frankly I hope he figures out what he’s passionate about and get as many chances as he needs to get it right. What do I really have to gain for hating on the dude? Lord knows someone could’ve judged me along the way and I wouldn’t have looked good at times
  24. Its entirely possible. He’s got all the upside, he just has never put it together long term. I’m still skeptical that the light suddenly came on and he instantly learned how to track a ball after years. Odds are he will come with highs and lows.
