  1. I haven’t watched him specifically but much like I bring up “soooomebody is going to get 800+ yards even if a bad player in a bad offense- there are going to be 3000 yards spread somewhere” similar can be said the other way. When you have 5-6 major threats ahead of you, you can be a very good player with a boring stat line. No idea on this kid but in evaluating the KC backup tight end, production is low on my list of places to have expectations
  2. If we didn’t actively try to keep him it’s really semantics whether he was let go or left. If we didn’t offer him anything meaningful I’d even say you are making a point that could be detrimental to the discussion though technically correct.
  3. It’s largely not a real goal currently. Even the best defenses don’t reflect what people think of “elite defense”
  4. Must suck to be the #2 seed ?
  5. That might be the first time the first guys been called
  6. I’d love to see Dallas in the dome next week
  7. I’m normally a bigger Sammy fan than most here but to lose THAT ball in the playoffs is unbelievable. Even if it comes out he landed with arms around it and didn’t pull it back in?!?
  8. To be fair- we could’ve given him a ton more talent.
  9. Touché. Regardless of how the picks match up though, it’s how it’ll be remembered. Going and getting our qb was #1 in the draft and they made the move very much with that in mind
  10. Get used to it. We are the team that traded out of the pick and then used that compensation to get a different qb we we will be the team tied to passing on him for better or worse.
  11. If we are that delicate, is what’s happening really that good?
  12. I believe the issue was they had Yeldon and ivory. That’s not a great backfield. The dude has like 60 catches. It’s not like he’s a total bum in the passing game just cause he’s not hunt/kamara
  13. I take speed over size but like a little variety and if we can grab a dude with both that’s always nice
  14. I don’t know that it’s fair to knock a guy for not winning a playoff game this year due to having secured a bye week. And yes, he gets some credit for changing the direction of that team.
  15. I mean, somewhat regulated I guess.
  16. I won’t disagree here either.
  17. I think badol generally hit the mark. Shady still is employable but not a guy that makes it happen all by himself now. And also that it was a douche tweet
  18. Flip side- now is the time that you can add 1-2 of those guys that you don’t intend to keep long term. All those times we said “how the hell do they keep adding pieces” and now we get to be that team. That could be brown or green or julio or von Miller or.... we are that team in that window. We are the rams, or the bears or the chiefs.
  19. Free agency, essentially. You know, the new league year.
  20. Yup- Mack is the type that requires two guys attention and still effects scheme/design. Suddenly the rest of the field is 10 defenders vs 9 offensive players because of his presence. We need guys like that or guys that absorb him leaving it 10-10
  21. Put another way- no one changes the math. There’s no one that challenges a double team and no blocker that absorbs an elite rusher without help. Allens running threat helps and Foster is getting there but the rest of the offense loses 1-1 matchups too easily
  22. I think we’ve likely seen his peak but I don’t think that means he’s suddenly going to plummet or anything. I enjoy that he used “his peak stats were 60% better than the best 3 year run in our franchise history and his last 3 years were only 50% better” as an argument that we should avoid him.
  23. I’ve long chalked up part of the Gilmore dislike to a lack of good benchmarking. Winfield, clements, Greer, McGee, Gilmore, Darby, White.... its a better run at CB than most teams have had. I think it really skewed a lot of fans perception of normal CB play around the league. add the myth of revis island in the division and suddenly things get real screwy with expectations there are a few spots I think the fan base got a little out of touch - how good our CB play has often been, and our fear of ever spending money jump to mind.
  24. Many are stock levels, for various offenses (roughness or sportsmanlike for instance)
