  1. Call me crazy but I still think that Coleman was drafted to let Shakir walk and now our pass catching resource allocations are all kinds of messed up with a million slot guys, the leagues richest backup tight end and prayers Elijah Moore can get behind a corner occasionally if you gave beane truth serum I think the hope was Keon, Samuel and a higher end WR addition - see something like Devante, DK but Keon hasn’t shown to be a real starter, and Samuel struggled and now that high end salary has to split between Palmer and Shakir to fill multiple roles.
  2. seems like an odd range of picks/years without context
  3. ironically, I think you have it backwards. Coleman is younger but has a more measurable physical ceiling which is going to make what we need from him very hard to accomplish. Dalton on the other hand is at a position that often takes longer to master AND for which he has high end physical traits. it’s going to be tough to push chips in on either til we see it but dalton seems incredibly more likely to become that guy
  4. the bengals would have it on billboards and be on every news outlet around if he was refusing to sign the “stock contract” we don’t know the exact verbiage but it’s clearly materially different
  5. meh. Both are frustrating. I’m not loving a debate between whether it was better to watch Phillip Rivers or Donovan Mcnabb? Just spitballing two good QBs without rings from 20 years ago I think I’d be ok tanking a few seasons in exchange for an appearance. 12-5 and Super Bowl run followed by 5-12 or two 11-6 seasons losing in the divisional? I think probably give me the first
  6. Something 5 figures? Like low/mid 5? More than a modest used car but less than 50 for sure
  7. I think the nfl would be hard pressed to cost him millions under the reasoning “must have been illegal if he doesn’t want to talk to reporters about it” even if we all have the very reasonable assumption of what it is
  8. and by aggravation he may mean participating fully in camp
  9. the thing is we would be fine without cook because we have Josh…. But whether that means we are optimized for a Super Bowl run… maybe? im honestly surprised. Thought it would be a day one of training camp arrival
  10. also none of the 4 are iron men
  11. or the same afternoon. The economics of Home Depot doing free same day delivery for like $5-10 items really gets me.
  12. Some guys refuse on principle or end up humbled on the market but he likely gets decent coin
  13. yea I ride the fence on this… obviously a fan and often advocate for preserving the game… but also the reality is it’s quite rough on the body and we normalize some extreme things to protect the game. especially in recent years I’ve fallen under them being incredibly well paid even at minimums and grown men can make grown decisions…. But some of these are certainly grown up choices they have to make in risking health for money.
  14. neither would make this 53 but ignoring player limits - von
  15. well if it was you… It seems a lil more than just a sore knee- I literally couldn’t walk. After a game on Sunday, I wouldn’t be able to walk on my own, under my own power, until Wednesday, Thursday. So I was only able to play under the pain meds. I couldn’t put any pressure on my knee, so it was like, I can’t keep doing that to myself.”
  16. 20 years of dedication. It’s hard to just turn it off. I’m glad he’s had the ability to slowly ween from it.
  17. We blame the media but some of the problem is our own reading, right?
  18. really makes you think it’s a passing league and not a running one, eh?
  19. oh I wont vilify him for it. I just also wont go all the way to the wall either. he signed a deal with rewards and consequences. If he’s ok taking the consequences, so be it. As a fan in this window, I’d be bummed if we get less than the best though
  20. 3 of the 4 lowest in the league in separation
  21. because he signed those terms
  22. I would be shocked if he shows up this week. until camp it’s all just noise.
  23. I’ve followed the team for decades. I have even started enjoying them again recently! Considering becoming a fan.
  24. A high volume running back - it’s like they are welcoming the curse
  25. I think he’s been a fine enough nfl tight end and may get to the next level. It’s hardly vilifying him to say he belongs as a starter in the league but he hasn’t separated him from the pack in the second tier of tight ends and that hurt us last year. Hopefully it doesn’t repeat.
