it remains interesting to me that jayz received so much leash with what amounts to only a slice of the industry. not a knock on him or rap music- heck, I went to his show last time he was in town… and rap has a large slice of the market right now…. But even within rap, there are those in and out of his clique. it’s cliche to say Metallica but in a Bay Area game it could’ve been interesting. You probably couldve also written a script for some sort of west coast punk mash up of Green Day and/or blink…. A call back to Green Day’s Katrina set would’ve been nostalgic. honestly, post Malone as a genre bending nfl fan was one I’ve had circled that could’ve been pretty interesting - could’ve dropped everything from rap to country and had Dave group drum on a nirvana cover in between

Week 5 of the season, no one. I think you need to see the landscape in a few months. in recent years I’ve said I’d make the move for Payton or harbaugh. I don’t know how I feel about the idea of Brady, as I think this far into the current regime you may not want ghosts lingering in the halls. Though he’s the type of guy I’d be eager to see. I’m not huge on kingsbury but do have some of that “what, will he only win 11-12 games?” sentiment about him. As long as Josh is upright we aren’t going 6-11 or anything. Monken kind of similar in my thoughts, though very different profiles between these two. call me wild but even the kubiak brothers could be an interesting hc/oc pair the thing is I don’t know any of that makes us better but I really don’t think it makes us worse and at some point we have to see if a move makes us better Seems we aren’t far off i avoided the DC options, but honestly if we might be rounding the post on Allen’s career, I’m becoming less worried about successful OCs being poached if we hire a defensive guy with a great OC penciled in. Only so many years left

oh I tend to agree here but my point was if that’s the risk of pulling the plug and getting a new voice in the teams head…. There’s not a whole lot of downside and just maybe it clicks for the building? so many posters act like there’s a risk of missing the playoffs for 20 years if we lose McDermott. The reality is even with a “miss” we likely win the division, and then what, lose to KC by 10 instead of 5? I think we are to the point of just needing to try something new if we don’t materially breakthrough this year.

I’ll challenge you this- pick like 10 middle of the pack coaches… say Dan Quinn, Mike Macdonald, Tomlin, Stefanski, Mike McDaniel and demeco Ryans types…. How much worse do you really think this team is? if we are talking 3 fewer wins in 5 years - then who really cares about hanging on for dear life because it could be worse. call me crazy but I’d have loved to see what Sean Payton or Harbaugh would do with Josh Allen, and I’d risk accidentally getting an average coaching performance to see if we could get an exceptional one. honestly, you trade Tua for Josh and you might not even be that confident in that

boss, I’m a season ticket holder of a non-bills team even. I promise I follow other teams pretty closely. And it’s my impression that we do more of the Hyde/poyer retirement tour coaching kickoffs than maybe any team in the league. once you normalize for that I do think we also keep a deeper bench of non practice -practice squad guys, ala Spector, instead of rummaging in others closets. yea, every team has a couple. It feels like we have a few more and then we layer another couple that can’t play on top of that. frankly with the salary floor, outside ebbs and flows with big bonuses and dead money, everyone’s spending about the same

of course other teams do a bit…. We seem to be high on the list from my heavy watching of other teams

yea, if one doofus for 4 months truly hurts culture you barely had it in the first place. You might argue a little extra edge could even help out possibly. but again, fine starter but not an elite player

I won’t pretend that it’s a huge miss, but I did think it had upside potential without much risk.

I won’t claim to be an expert on the day in question but it sure seems like he heavily contributed with his own illegal choices. it also seems the lady may have been only half paying attention and the trooper was like pretty aggressive in trying to get the witness statements to say what he needed frankly, from what we’ve heard it seems like exactly the type to be going to a grand jury to see what he could be indicted for and a trial for those charges. That he went off the rails doesn’t speak to the idea that he was confident in his behavior that night but…

I think saints fans are praying to scam a 2nd for him but would take a 3 concussion history and takes plays off. Exciting combo and not a slam dunk wr1 that I agree with though nervous about whether that player would get to be featured

mentioned it in the other thread but was telling the folks I watched with all night that it needed to turn into Josh/dalton/james cook hero ball with a bit of Shakir moving horizontally underneath. Lots of work inside the numbers. then they did it and everyone acted like I was smart… but it wasn’t particularly high level. whether it was Brady or Josh - I really don’t get the amount of perimeter work and pushing downfield this week when the opponent is decent at corner but not against some teams with big holes. coming out of a “rebuild” it was clear he thinks he is already where he needs to be. Unfortunately I think a lot of us are nervous about that based on where we haven’t gotten.

agreed. i tend to accept the human element in bang bang plays, or that refs sometimes have weird angles…. But haven’t really figured how this one went sideways. It wasn’t particularly close.
