  1. Marginally? Compared to the last two years he’s same YPC and halfway to his production. talent matters. You are comparing a guy who was top 10 to a guy that’s top 64
  2. we lost to their defenses
  3. does it strike you while typing that he can trust an elite guy but struggles at times with mediocre guys? Talent matters. We’ve given him little on the perimeter.
  4. the offense didn’t have the talent on the field to do what fans are clamoring for There are only so many ways to hero ball Josh-James with the defense not having to cover anything over the top or slow developing
  5. Allen was drastically beaten up and had Palmer but not the physical capability to get it there at that point.
  6. I think McDermott is the philosophy while Brady is the executor the problem remains no WR1 though facing a real pass rush with even marginal secondary and we are sunk. there are only so many concepts to quickly scheme open mediocre WRs play in and play out. Often those routes take time. If the dbs can sit on those handful of quick plays, not worry about the deep threat and the pass rush bails them out of the playground ball plays…. We are cooked.
  7. Still likely a playoff team still hate that we’ve assembled a room of WR3 and WR4 guys Some of them very good in those roles… but cannot be a starting group in the modern nfl
  8. billsy move by the Texans there
  9. inside end around to grape Davis
  10. Feels like not as much pre-snap motion tonight. Maybe I’m wrong.
  11. so many of us beat the drum of our team not being built to win a matchup like this and got served a healthy dose of everybody says
  12. he should be on the field but with the defense keying between the tackles he should’ve been going perimeter - whether run, pass or decoy
  13. If going up the middle go with Josh
  14. no because we have no threats outside nobody eats.
  15. playing with a lead absolutely helps that a ton.
  16. this has been exactly what I pointed to back in March/april/may the lack of a WR1 isn’t just going to risk the season, it’s going to risk Josh getting hurt potentially
  17. Weird - any pass rush and decent corner play and our offense is tanked because WRs can’t win matchups
  18. sometimes regresses from perfect….
  19. Late on routes, late to meetings and late growing up…. going to be a sad story of it doesn’t click soon
  20. I think the clearest message was McD talking about shavers taking all the little things, and dirty work things seriously and in turn excelling when it was his moment for a splashy play surely a pat on shavers back but it felt like a very direct message about needing to learn the lesson still
  21. Generally any WR making it to the nfl CAN make a play any given Sunday. It’s why we all love the bubble guys in camp - they all flash the ability to do it sometimes. it’s a huge gap from a guy that can do it occasionally to a guy that can do it week in and week out - especially in games after new years with Allen - cook - Kincaid we have pieces to help elevate our WRs but we still don’t have guys that are simply winning matchups at the rate needed
  22. I guess it’s a matter of whether the topic was “we are benching you for performance” vs “we are holding you out for a game due to conduct” personally, I don’t care but it may drastically shape how he reacts to the extension here
  23. paired with doing it at premium positions that are also positions of need… it’s very boom or bust in strategy - which I get is the way you find a premium DE, WR, or CB as a perennially strong team…. But hurts bad when it’s also immediate need based and misses
  24. I did acknowledge that it’s not simply ranking guys, in a nod to packages but my point still was that he went from being active in the most packages to unable to dress…. And maybe Palmer getting healthy plus Gabe truly does replace him in essentially every package I just think at some point if the guys underwater you start limiting packages and giving a few to others as both a wake up call but a chance to hone a specific craft or two in a Brady fan but it’s a strange transition. It’s rare to see a WR or DL so drastically shift their platooning
  25. but isn’t that why weeks 7-12 a guy like shavers should have been shifting reps progressively? is our WR1 by snap count such a specific role that it took Gabe getting healthy to make a shift?
