There will be an NFL Triple-header on Christmas (a Thursday)
NoSaint replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
meh i get the players wanting to grow their personal brands not sure I ever got fans being super into it im totally ok with a boring and predictable schedule. Especially if a season ticket holder. A bunch of mid week work/school night games and holidays rarely make for better weeks. Yet alone the 14 different networks. I’m super ok with routine, predictable slates -
McDermott in animated discussion with Roseman?

“it’s effective but not proper” isn’t terribly hard to reconcile -
group of thousands of people often have conflicting views across the spectrum of opinions id imagine at the very least their signing bonuses were not quite as robust but who knows

Being a top 3 team in scoring. Does it matter how we do it?
NoSaint replied to PrimeTime101's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’d much rather Allen throw for 45 TDs and 4800 yards and not have to run outside of the second half in playoff games id also like to be an even more dynamic matchup problem where there’s not a team we worry about seeing us down because we can use the whole field. plus, it has potential to keep Josh healthier -
ultimately next offseason we likely have Shakir Coleman palmer perhaps as a 1 year guy i dint think we’d be thrilled with that meaning either a vet (pricy) or high pick. I think getting a mid pick this year is a good investment to reduce the capital spent next year. Even in an optimistic scenario that guy would be an asset but if anyone isn’t at their ceiling a starting player will be needed
-
id rather a day 2 pick… Coleman is a complete question mark palmer is a 2 year deal and major question mark is be shocked if Samuel is here in 2026 we don’t need lightning in a bottle or a 1 year rental - we need a solid prospect that inn12 months will be expected to be a near full time starter on a cost controlled deal for several years. A day 2 guy is great short term depth and long term real potential

vet minimum was never a real thing but genuinely amazed at a 1 yr 26m i figured something like bosa level with opportunities to push higher with incentives

FINAL v3.0 now LIVE on p.15 - Gunner's 2025 Mock Draft
NoSaint replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
only thing on sanders is if he’s not totally their guy they could insulate themselves a bit with the trade still -
it’s been very need based drafting. And in the late 20s it’s hard to snag a specific positional need, that’s a system fit, and has top 30 talent the draft comes, we of course are amped with a first rounder that matches a hole… but was that guy the top ranked on our board because he was the elite talent left or our favorite hole filler? im not sure how much is revisionist because they didn’t work vs being realistic about why I was good with them at the time

Keon Coleman FaceTimes Josh Allen - Funny

what was the bigger curse, that moulds wasted 2 years before breaking out or that now we have to give every wr 2 years or hear about moulds taking that long -
yea - trading up to get a guy like that you expect some big plays in big moments. can look at the refs not giving him the first or talk about the knee or the degree of difficulty on the catch… But at some point you need to talk about the plays made too and not just the reasons for near misses it’s still very early but a couple of those plays coming through are literal history changers potentially

when you pay 3 guys as wr2, and your backup te as te1 plus bookend tackles

Danielle Hunter signs extension with Texans for a BRINKS truck

rookie QBs let you give 5-10 guys 5-10m more than you should. we should’ve been so aggressive -
no one trades a young cheap corner with years left on their deal - they trade the guy that’s either on the cusp of walking for a payday or the guy that’s not fulfilled that contract they already got. I think that parts just a given with any trade target for the most part

Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!
NoSaint replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’ve been saying for awhile that if, excluding the proverbial megatron prospect, if you built a bills WR prototype - it feels like bech is pretty close im not sure how I feel about that but it sure does seem like a fair assessment either way big, strong, physical, but sacrifices explosive speed to be all that. willing to mix it up. Football family. High character family. like McDermott would love for this dude to succeed on a personal level. -
I’d be calling the browns about their corners honestly. Getting low on options and I think you would like to fill the hole meaningfully before the draft I’m no expert on him but have seen Greg newsome as a guy that mentioned as a possible offseason trade candidate, as an example I’m sure gunner can give me a full work up on him before i call it a night

It’s always tricky your body and game have to age into a new niche - sometimes easier than others as you note. you have to be very lucky with injuries or lack there of and your ego has to handle a major adjustment for a guy like diggs. I think this is a spot where sometimes being a superstar makes the next phase harder for a guy like him. Mack hollins never got used to being THE DUDE and had to keep up with the dirty work and special teams and being cool with being a bit of the sideshow that can have some moments here and there. For stef going from a top 5-10 guy in the league to a WR3 only on some teams would take a lot of humbling. I’ve always thought he was an interesting psych study with a bit of anti-social behavior paired so closely with a need to be liked. I wondered if he might surprise with that in an effort to clean up his legacy to be more positive…. but I think the ACL ends it.

Bengals extend Chase (4 yrs $161mill) AND Higgins (4 yrs $115mill)
NoSaint replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think I’m more “meh” than most on the early extensions. I think more often than not over the course of a career they tend to even out quite a bit in overall value. sure some risk/reward with injuries vs jumps forward but the classic 4 for 50 (12.5m) for cook isn’t a tremendous value vs 5m followed by 15 per (using bar napkins) -
ultimately a 9 year vet and we paid him 3 of his 11m career earnings. Wild perspective that a guy that caught passes in JUCo from CARDALE JONES has only amassed 8m in cash earnings prior to last season Figure half out the door before you even put it in a bank account so maybe bar napkin 5.5 and even a few hundred grand amounts to a not inconsequential percentage of his career earning. go get it.

Joey Bosa signs with Buffalo. 1 year, $12.6 million
NoSaint replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
the truth is likely that most jerks are friendly most of the time too- he could be a cocky dude but still have genuine conversations. It’s not difficult to reconcile -
Just as close to providence as Boston… neither walkable though the guys had a relatively modest career and this very well may be the last time he puts ink on paper in the nfl. I can’t fault him if he chased every last penny so he could retire and live the life he wants
-
importantly, he’s not likely to age with grace. frankly he’s still playing the “doesn’t anybody listen to drake” nonsense to his “cryptic” tweets If he doesn’t roll the credits by choice and instead limps into retirement I have little doubt that he will do so with public frustration about his diminishing role

Hashtag wrong bosa -
there’s also a reality that I think McDermott gives a lot of input on a 1st round defender
-
had Josh gotten hurt for real in that first Baltimore game it would’ve ended the season not having a guy that could stress defenses outside or deep definitely elevates that risk… adding that guy reduces impacts in Josh and makes us a tougher matchup. That’s not to say it’s the only thing but it’s an important element
