Palmer is by far our best downfield guy… imagine if we had a top 20 field stretcher though -

a decade in with a defensive head coach and a ton of premium resources there…. DE first rounder resigned for big money, DT first resigned for big money, bosa, lb resigned for big money behind then… just absolute worst case scenario to get carved like that -
the problem is being good at low percentage plays still means low conversion. It puts a real ceiling on you when every play is contested, even if you are better than many
-
well, also rarely is a big deal made out of one miss if you are early to the hundreds of other deadlines
-
we can lose to all 31 out there. We should still win that game like 85% of the time if not more.
-
yea Bryce and Rico are intimidating…. dear lord…

the problem is Tua is a big part of the tail spin. That was one of the moments to restart the engines but instead the steered harder into it the problem is Tua is a big part of the tail spin. That was one of the moments to restart the engines but instead the steered harder into it

counter: the teams we beat are a combined 3-17 right now and we have had tough stretches against several our pass defense has baked in games against rattler and fields again, I don’t think we are a train wreck but I am nervous about Rousseau or Coleman needing to make one big play. I do like the addition of bosa which I praise early and often… but it’s risky.

Return of the Tre! (Tre White signs with the Bills)

I suspect the patriots data team has more experience monitoring that and had the 4 second threshold set based on data and not whimsy tnat said, he’s injured fewer teammates too whats the net gain/loss on him being a little softer but us being healthier? -
alongside that I think plenty of folks see a highlight reel and catch weird comments theres a world where a Carolina fan woke up to see Coleman stats post-Baltimore, heard him referred to effusively early in the Miami game as a stud game changing weapon and then saw he scored a TD this week and probably thinks he’s much better than he is watching a single team for 60 mins every week gives a whole different view than casually keeping up from afar that said though many of us do follow our in market teams pretty closely and get more of those perspectives

Hell I’d like to be up 14 at the end but sometimes it’s a close game

I think there’s a, not totally undeserved, feeling that we have a qb that makes us a contender annually but the rest doesn’t always measure up. while the Trent and fitz teams that started hot were fools gold for wild card contention, this one feels a bit like that for the Super Bowl. in a league where you pass and stop the passer we are missing a secondary and a pass rush, as well as pass catchers. I’ll admit I think we overachieved last year a bit and outside of bosa we didn’t add a lot of new to the cupboard. Bosa might really help one of those 3 phases- maybe even 2 by taking stress off the secondary none of that to say we are some 6 win fraud… but that I’m also not buying the if we beat New England we are the last undefeated and those question marks disappear.

Ignoring whether or not you thought of it what do you think would happen if Keon Coleman suddenly played like a top ten WR that could punish teams deep? no worthy is too small or legette or DK debate… simply Keon steps in and plays like an elite wr. does our run game improve? does our defense look better with a lead?
-
we have the best car at the track maybe the best driver in the history of racing and our lack of a WR1 is a resistor plate ensuring that we can’t pull away from the pack there is a chance that Keon Coleman becoming a number 1 or not during this rookie contract will be the difference between multiple rings vs never reaching the big gene If nothing else, I think opposing teams had to respect his nameplate and any given week could click also think it sent a message to the team about expectations

Bad Bunny will be the Super Bowl halftime act

it remains interesting to me that jayz received so much leash with what amounts to only a slice of the industry. not a knock on him or rap music- heck, I went to his show last time he was in town… and rap has a large slice of the market right now…. But even within rap, there are those in and out of his clique. it’s cliche to say Metallica but in a Bay Area game it could’ve been interesting. You probably couldve also written a script for some sort of west coast punk mash up of Green Day and/or blink…. A call back to Green Day’s Katrina set would’ve been nostalgic. honestly, post Malone as a genre bending nfl fan was one I’ve had circled that could’ve been pretty interesting - could’ve dropped everything from rap to country and had Dave group drum on a nirvana cover in between -
Week 5 of the season, no one. I think you need to see the landscape in a few months. in recent years I’ve said I’d make the move for Payton or harbaugh. I don’t know how I feel about the idea of Brady, as I think this far into the current regime you may not want ghosts lingering in the halls. Though he’s the type of guy I’d be eager to see. I’m not huge on kingsbury but do have some of that “what, will he only win 11-12 games?” sentiment about him. As long as Josh is upright we aren’t going 6-11 or anything. Monken kind of similar in my thoughts, though very different profiles between these two. call me wild but even the kubiak brothers could be an interesting hc/oc pair the thing is I don’t know any of that makes us better but I really don’t think it makes us worse and at some point we have to see if a move makes us better Seems we aren’t far off i avoided the DC options, but honestly if we might be rounding the post on Allen’s career, I’m becoming less worried about successful OCs being poached if we hire a defensive guy with a great OC penciled in. Only so many years left

oh I tend to agree here but my point was if that’s the risk of pulling the plug and getting a new voice in the teams head…. There’s not a whole lot of downside and just maybe it clicks for the building? so many posters act like there’s a risk of missing the playoffs for 20 years if we lose McDermott. The reality is even with a “miss” we likely win the division, and then what, lose to KC by 10 instead of 5? I think we are to the point of just needing to try something new if we don’t materially breakthrough this year.
-
given the state of affairs, I don’t think it’s unreasonable
-
let’s see if mcd goes and finds his next great qb and makes us regret it. I’ll challenge you this- pick like 10 middle of the pack coaches… say Dan Quinn, Mike Macdonald, Tomlin, Stefanski, Mike McDaniel and demeco Ryans types…. How much worse do you really think this team is? if we are talking 3 fewer wins in 5 years - then who really cares about hanging on for dear life because it could be worse. call me crazy but I’d have loved to see what Sean Payton or Harbaugh would do with Josh Allen, and I’d risk accidentally getting an average coaching performance to see if we could get an exceptional one. honestly, you trade Tua for Josh and you might not even be that confident in that
-
boss, I’m a season ticket holder of a non-bills team even. I promise I follow other teams pretty closely. And it’s my impression that we do more of the Hyde/poyer retirement tour coaching kickoffs than maybe any team in the league. once you normalize for that I do think we also keep a deeper bench of non practice -practice squad guys, ala Spector, instead of rummaging in others closets. yea, every team has a couple. It feels like we have a few more and then we layer another couple that can’t play on top of that. frankly with the salary floor, outside ebbs and flows with big bonuses and dead money, everyone’s spending about the same
-
of course other teams do a bit…. We seem to be high on the list from my heavy watching of other teams
