  1. Texans here- looking for the worst team in comfortable with not the obvious blowout. At home, vs a bad team, back against the wall. Demeco vs a rookie qb.
  2. he’s always been a handful to manage. that said, if managing him for a few months - and you let him play - I do imagine he’d like it here and give the defense a little more spunk
  3. I’m all for those two playing each other in the wildcard round. I guess chiefs losing helps support that happening? chargers with a solid 3 game lead in the division would feel like chiefs going on the road out of the gate in the playoffs.
  4. I’m 19-1 since the start of last season… my one loss of course the browns early last year. Just too volatile a team to bank on today I picked against a terrible saints team traveling all the way to Seattle. When else was I going to use Seattle?
  5. When he was in the transfer portal everyone wanted him. Now….
  6. Bummed I can’t set up parking in advance. Traveling with the family and suspect we might not be out the door at the crack of dawn. how early does hammer normally hit capacity for a 1pm game these days?
  7. Thats absolutely not a misunderstanding for us. Was all good with the strategy in the first half. we absolutely needed a play downfield in the second half and it was a matter of lack of skill outside- that’s noteworthy.
  8. nailed it. holding two truths here is the nature of the discussion.
  9. almost always most teams are down someone…. And it’s become hard to say we are down Milano as a starter at this point
  10. Counter: sure they are an nfl roster in the era of the salary floor. They have nfl players scattered around the roster and even some good units. they have a bottom 5-10 secondary and a bad offensive line. They also have a guy who’s kind of average at qb. so lacking talent and no talent multiplier at the most important position. They are the drought era bills with a little bit more at qb and not the high water mark of the other 52? Plus more dysfunction? it’s a below average team that has dysfunction on top (bills, chargers, KC, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Denver, Houston bring you to the argument for 8 in the afc)
  11. I think many of us think Miami is a very bad team though. Not the playoff fins we have at times battled but a true talent lacking squad that has active internal conflict on top of it. in a special season there will be a few of those that aren’t pretty but you take the win…. But that the gap on the field matched the forecasted gap on paper is what stands out. josh airmails a couple passes and nobody blinks about the long term because sometimes you just don’t hit everything. Josh stands patting the ball because he can’t find anyone open and that gives pause about the bigger story.
  12. If the interior of walker-sanders-Oliver comes together and bosa stays healthy plus hoecht coming back…. it’d have me as optimistic as I’ve ever been about this team (even with my wr worries)
  13. if he hits his ceiling, he will be tremendous value for us - the type that can sway huge games. he’s flashing it.
  14. I’ll at least buy this. it may be some confirmation bias that what we saw tonight matched the pre baked worry about the group…. But may not be the norm.
  15. got it. So the argument is in the 4th quarter after losing our lead against a team in the division/conference (all those tie breakers count extra) that we were strategically punting back to them for lack any real pressure - not that it was a case of our offense struggling to get anything more than 5 yards down field, but simply complimentary football still hopefully when we need the play later down the road- or maybe several of those plays - they are in fact readily available
  16. throwing a few 20 yard passes to wide receivers isn’t super man. In fact, giving him a wr who can do that without him having to act like super man is the entire point of the thread. you can support the general philosophy without being totally disingenuous about the push back you are receiving
  17. is that when you wouldve opened it up? tied in the 4th quarter on 3rd down wasn’t time to make a passing play but behind would’ve been when it becomes a need?
  18. where we diverge: I think the plan is maximizing what we have, and not always what the plan could be. if Keon exploded into a dominant threat- the plan would look different, for instance
  19. if we didn’t get the roughing the kicker and they marched down the field what would you have thought?
  20. At some point in the second half we crossed that threshold and did not succeed opening it up. Against a very bad secondary. Thats the point. it’s nit picky tonight. It may be the difference in us taking the trophy home later though.
  21. the problem isn’t Brady ball - I celebrated it in the first half. If you are walking down the field, no need to risk turnover, injury or sack in the second half on a few plays where we needed the shot - it wasn’t happening and it seemed to be perimeter skill, not play call in those moments.
  22. no one said perfection. I just think you have a fundamental misunderstanding of how other teams are built if you think the options are cincy or us at WR.
  23. yes they did that by very explicitly toasting a single player who was catastrophic. I can hope Dallas makes the Super Bowl and we get Elam- but I do think it’s a fair challenge to point out that we may run into
  24. we have Josh. The expectation should be best offense of the decade if we reasonably support him. That doesn’t need to be $50m+ for WR1/WR2 for us to have options that can run
  25. I think you see where bass is once healthy but all things similar it should be him
