can’t is a strong word but honestly last week I felt the winner would be the best team the rest of the way. Not by huge margins but enough to be excited yup - weird routines against a very good team. Even if you are a great roster you aren’t expecting better than maybe 60-40 odds

he could do it as an assistant coach then. Im not arguing whether or not he should play, im simply saying if he’s on the practice squad he should be fully on the depth chart. If he’s not in line to be available ever, put someone there that could contribute this year or next if you are getting a jersey then you need to be able to lace up cleats on Sunday- otherwise give him a polo and let him start his coaching career

or a path forward somehow the saints have an absentee owner, a GM with no vision that is his own boss, a massive cap problem, no qb and weak draft capital m the next guy in either gets a huge 5-6 year commitment or is ok with being the sacrificial lamb in 24 months for a decent pay day and handing the keys over to a guy like Brady then,

some other guy could be running drills and learning the scheme, just in case. If he’s a coach and not a player just make him a coach and let someone else get prepped as an in case of emergency or for future development I get it, the last bench spot on the practice squad isn’t likely to matter but I think it’s silly to play play this game unless he’s genuinely on the depth chart
