his actual play has never been considerably better
a lot of the variance year over year is change of luck when you look at the rates of off target throws etc… being pretty consistent
when in doubt on a third down in a playoff game and it CERTAINLY wasn’t forceful…. Leave the flag in your pocket for “it might’ve bumped but wasn’t clear”
if he has called the right game management moves - time outs, 4th downs, etc… and the team is motivated… I really don’t care if it’s a slog or a shootout personally
he still has to prove he has a full playbook and such as the mid point.
i would want a very vet offensive assistant in there still if he’s going to be OC under a guy like Flores
Meh.
after 1 year as qb coach with the panthers debacle, and 1 year as qb coach in Minnesota I’m not sure you turn McCown loose as an OC under a defensive head coach yet.
Grigson wasn’t great last go around.
and Flores is a dicey pick on his own.
Sounds like I’m all for it!
i often advocate staying put for elite talent but in that draft you have to think watt-Quinn-cam Jordan-Kerrigan-liuget would’ve all profiled very well with this regime. Feels like a trade back year with the willingness to land several guys depending on who was around in if you could fall to the teens.
and if you didn’t need a qb what a crazy first round that was… cut out the qbs and just very few busts.
and of the 13 DT/DE/edge in the first, Corey liuget, nick fairley and Adrian clayborn are the only non pro bowlers?
That wasn’t the consideration at all
the issue is grounding isn’t a reviewable penalty so they couldn’t go back and throw the flag after it was swapped from fumble to pass
obviously but if dissecting the WR crew did we have guys limping around in 13 seconds?
it feels like Josh is in about the best shape he’s been in this late in the season
