  1. It’s also deciding to trade Sammy, let Goodwin walk, let woods walk, trade up in the first twice, chase zay, trade for Coleman but not Gordon, and chase multiple free agents but not win them
  2. Plus benjamin is one of the bigger hits on the team and cost a pick. They swung and missed and need to own it
  3. Falcons at Saints tonight. Saints averaging 37.8 PPG, the 5th-most through 10 games in NFL history. They’re scoring on 63% of their drives, the highest since NFL went to 16-game schedule in 1978. They’ve scored more points in last 3 games (144) than Bills have this season (137).
  4. Hopefully! The “can’t fill every hole in one offseason” excuse from happy was pretty weak. Even if you limit it solely to beane — he traded away Sammy and acquired benjamin and Matthews. Had kerley for 6 months and cut him the day after guaranteeing his salary. Never gave Coleman much of a shot. That we are relying on a udfa rookie right now and have benjamin as a starter does certainly reflect on him. He has had time and opportunities to shape the group and he’s made his choices.
  5. True story- was totally out to get him with my “im down to assume you meant well, but should be aware many don’t mean well and it might get you jumped on by folks.... like we saw here” response lots of people that feel persecuted in here today.
  6. I mean, Peterson did beat the kid pretty badly last go around. There are pictures and reports. I agree we dont know what he did this time exactly but think there’s an element of maybe not letting your friend with 3 DUIs drive even if you only saw him have 2 beers, your friend that’s been through rehab get away with just a bump, or your guy that’s got child abuse charges pull out the belt and go to his “whooping room” with the kid. generally the behaviors might not be out of this world terrible for average Joe but Peterson’s proven not to be the guy that knows how to get the questionable behavior right
  7. Im fine giving benefit of the doubt but maybe a learning experience? The history of our country protecting white women from young black men isn’t particularly good. Throwing in blonde instead of woman creates connotations that a huge number will read whether you meant them or not
  8. They have a defense built to play with a lead. they are rushing the passer and snagging a few turnovers from that, not stuffing the run with great linebacker play. its why I kind of liked Schwartz’s defense for us for a while. Spend on guys impacting the qb, have a cheap lb that can clean up the run when needed and ballhawk a bit on the back end fits today’s modern nfl.
  9. I’d avoid the quotes and photos on page 2 in that case. I suspect that your argument would land better outside the context of peterson history - as I don’t think it’s unreasonable to have different takes.... but this thread colors it a bit differently if folks don’t know you well
  10. There’s definitely some gray area out there and I agree about not racing to judge but I think some judgment of the last incident is fair
  11. from the last incident - they’ve obviously spared us the ***** wound but I’m thinking maybe some context on an nfl back “whooping” a 4 year old
  12. Such as: The beating allegedly resulted in numerous injuries to the child, including cuts and bruises to the child’s back, buttocks, ankles, legs and *****, along with defensive wounds to the child’s hands. Peterson then texted the boy’s mother, saying that one wound in particular would make her “mad at me about his leg. I got kinda good wit the tail end of the switch.” Peterson also allegedly said via text message to the child’s mother that he “felt bad after the fact when I notice the switch was wrapping around hitting I (sic) thigh” and also acknowledged the injury to the child’s ***** in a text message, saying, “Got him in nuts once I noticed. But I felt so bad, n I’m all tearing that butt up when needed! I start putting them in timeout. N save the whooping for needed memories!” given this account - feeling super confident about the dude picking up a belt?
  13. Considering how far out of bounds he was in the last case- I am a little surprised that so many people are down to assume the the dude is acting reasonably and with restraint when hitting his kid that he previously abused i would get a “let’s wait and see” from some but not full throated support
  14. Yea, but the flip side is those that watch keenum play don’t think he can get the lead consistently enough to be able to lose the game. And while he’s incredibly highly paid, in the universe of new qb contracts is it crazy that he’s similar to Carr, Stafford and garrapolo (after like a month starting)? 30m will be the new normal as elite guys get new deals
  15. Cap hit of 9m and dead money of just 4.5 so there’s a solid cap savings to cutting him.
  16. I get what your saying but they were 13-3 and in the NFCCG. They already were a contender. That’s why I was proposing the alternate framing that the goal was maintaining that status and avoiding keenum coming back to earth. That keeping that level of play or a small step up was the justification of the move. Hes between Matt Ryan and garrapolo (with Stafford and Carr right behind JG) for perspective. He’s obviousky highly paid but kind of in line with the new line of deals
  17. Did they pay him for drastically better play than keenums ceiling? Or because Keenum was a risk to drop off and cousins was reliably the guy that would play at or a little above keenums ceiling?
  18. If the bills won last nights game the same way this board would be much more entertaining. We are the dude sitting next to our horse complaining about how cars take the fun out of transportation
  19. I can’t imagine why anyone would be mad at this guy. I’m not a big fan of his but I’m not sure we could ask for any more out of the dude
  20. Ultimately, what he said is generally more true than not (Allens not good yet) and getting attention makes him money.... so it’s hard to be pissed, but it was definitely in poor taste.
  21. I’ve been talking about the confidence and swagger across the team. Also That young Sean Payton is back and bountygate/pill gate/divorce sean Paytons gone the quote of the article: Thursday night,” Payton said. “Just doodling. Just thinking. I just thought of it, and I said to the coaches, ‘Will this work?’ And [quarterbacks coach] Joe Lombardi said, ‘Why not? We can do anything we want.’
  22. Do we think it’s bottom yet? I think he could be worse down the stretch.
  23. Well I’d say that many of his throws are still technically questionable but ending up on the money. I had recently read some commentary that scouting reports mainly assumed mechanics would catch up to him at this level... and were wrong so far. I didn’t watch a ton in college
  24. being a saints season ticket holder through his prime has been a treat as a fan of the game
  25. To be fair, Carr had a pretty tight window of good play. For his first year and a half, or so his stats were actually relatively close to EJ starting his career (haven’t discussed this in awhile so I don’t remember the exact comp period)
