It means a little something but most can’t grasp that whether or not we throw a 50 yard TD - it’s did the qb have good mechanics, make the right read on time, did the ball have enough zip in Nate’s case etc.... while too many jump straight to the stat line

We had a receiver run around naked and bloody, INCOGNITO (just generally the whole offseason), the woods retirement debacle, our rookie qb Twitter, the mccoy saga, traded for and cut Coleman like 10 days apart, poyers family stuff.... at some level I think we are numb to drama this year and it all blurs together. For such a straight laced coach it’s really been something.

The good ones would be pretty billsy— fans would declare a qb controversy despite knowing full well the truth.... Jets would draft the guy we want in May... it’d be fitting.

Im not feeling particularly optimistic about McD or his development of a project qb... but I do generally believe allen can throw the ball a mile without accounting for accuracy. That’s the only reason I brought up the question.

Do you think that’s an issue of strength or accuracy? Under throwing can EASILY be poor anticipation or placement on balls that could’ve been thrown further

Once you say “in decades” you can likely say “ever” for most measurables. Training, nutrition, and the science of player development are all just another level. to this question- I’d say arguably yes. Depending on the qualifiers I’d say he probably rates in the top handful for just about any test (just straight radar gun fast ball or sheer distance), but if it’s got an accuracy qualifier (fastest throw to reliably hit a 40 yard tight target) might get interesting.

If trying to be honest here you can’t just ignore that he’s been either 1 or 2 for the wide majority of his albeit short career. At least a portion of the fans involved have to be doing this out of worry that he looks good in practice and creeps back up the depth chart yet again. im not saying it’s polite or reasonable or even effective. Surely not giving my money. But I’m not terribly worried about np2 either

We’ve seen similar billboards for coaches or front office without much worry for feelings. Why’s nate a different case? Not saying ones right or wrong but genuinely curious about the dynamic

You see, they had to trade everything possible in case Tyrod led a depleted team to a great record, so they could draft a qb. Ignore the cordy part.

Do you think McDermott mentioned in his interview that he couldn’t possibly draft a qb in his first year? How many months should a defensive coach get to evaluate college QBs?

On a really bad Nfl team how many are 6 of one half dozen of the other with guys on the street? Like most of those busts are still playing in the nfl for a bit.

To point 1: isnt “finding continuity” actually code for “hiring a coach and system worth keeping” simply keeping someone to avoid change isnt particularly good. That said, the franchise hasn’t shown much in ID’ing leaders to bring in, so who knows if they know who to ship out

Its tough for us.... but one would hope those more in the know would have a better grasp on his play design, teaching, etc....
