    Why even use hill or hunt... you have good depth to get you to the end of the game. Ware and Watkins would love the touches.

    I don’t even think he’d be particularly good but for essentially league minimum I assume he’d deserve the spot, right? It didnt save money. It didn’t return a good pick. It was basically saying we could get a better guy at league minimum. I’ll remain skeptical of that. Especially looking at the roster at that time.

    I’ll admit, I thought Reid to kc was going to be ugly (just had a lot of family issues and took no time off to get straight).... man... he’s really something

    I’ve come to this season completely comfortable missing games. Some years less so but Rex and McD have never had my flavor of koolaid. I was at least curious about the Roman/Kromer run game and what Rex would do (the latter got old fast)... with this group I just don’t see it happening though. I hope an innovator on offense gets the reigns before this important offseason

    Generally agree but one would think there’d be some care about getting him good experience if we are putting a huge premium to get him

    Thats what happens when it’s a passing league and you have no pieces to that puzzle. the WR group was totally foreseeable. The o line was duct tape and bubble gum.... the offensive strategy in the offseason was either: 1) don’t care or 2) think we are solid which is worse?

    But in that scenario, even if you believe he’s a perfect kicker the strategy only works a little under 50% of the time if your goal is a win. 1 gets you to overtime which is 50-50 (minus ties). If your goal is a win and you factor in ties and imperfect kickers, it’s an interesting position to debate

    The narrative that they were screwed by the cap situation is one of the most frustrating... Poor guys having to deal with somethinf they created.

    Agreed 100% he wasn’t the answer and we got blown out plenty with him but here we are with 10m in dead money at qb between he and McCarron and a depth chart of Anderson-peterman It’s a not really acknowledged byproduct of the peterman debacle. The benching surely soured the relationship and helped create this situation

    It can be tough with just 45 active and several of those being specialists but.... totally agree that you get the all pro players out

    Yup, outside of smith who predated everyone... they didn’t invest there. It’s been a worry since we brought in Carolina leadership. that said- benjamin Coleman and kerley represent a 3rd, 7th and like 13m in cap space. Roll in a trade up for zay. We’ve spent. Just terribly.

    Across 23(?) games it’s amazing the number of blowouts as well as the number of games with no touchdowns at all (or until deeeeep into the game)

    Weve sold damn near everything. That’s how outside of Minnesota we are averaging like 9 ppg in the easiest to score era yet.

    I can at least (to a degree) give some grace to those not being their guys. Dead money from guys cut in the season they were signed is always obnoxious. Kerley is far less but his irks me a tom. yours is obviously the more important decisions but ugh on those little ones too

    They also had cam surrounded by Steve Smith, Greg Olsen, behind a better line and with one of the better rb tandems in the league

    All you need to do is take his cap hit and back out the already paid out money that’s been amortized (ie signing bonus) bar napkin- the team that paid it keeps it on their books

    The contracts honestly not bad. Hits would be 20m or lower the whole way for whoever gets him and essentially no hit to cut him, so a series of 1 year non guaranteed deals

    Coleman and/or McCarron alwas nice when you gaurantee guys top 10-15 pay on your team and they don’t play a snap for you
