  1. I take speed over size but like a little variety and if we can grab a dude with both that’s always nice
  2. I don’t know that it’s fair to knock a guy for not winning a playoff game this year due to having secured a bye week. And yes, he gets some credit for changing the direction of that team.
  3. I mean, somewhat regulated I guess.
  4. I won’t disagree here either.
  5. I think badol generally hit the mark. Shady still is employable but not a guy that makes it happen all by himself now. And also that it was a douche tweet
  6. Flip side- now is the time that you can add 1-2 of those guys that you don’t intend to keep long term. All those times we said “how the hell do they keep adding pieces” and now we get to be that team. That could be brown or green or julio or von Miller or.... we are that team in that window. We are the rams, or the bears or the chiefs.
  7. Free agency, essentially. You know, the new league year.
  8. Yup- Mack is the type that requires two guys attention and still effects scheme/design. Suddenly the rest of the field is 10 defenders vs 9 offensive players because of his presence. We need guys like that or guys that absorb him leaving it 10-10
  9. Put another way- no one changes the math. There’s no one that challenges a double team and no blocker that absorbs an elite rusher without help. Allens running threat helps and Foster is getting there but the rest of the offense loses 1-1 matchups too easily
  10. I think we’ve likely seen his peak but I don’t think that means he’s suddenly going to plummet or anything. I enjoy that he used “his peak stats were 60% better than the best 3 year run in our franchise history and his last 3 years were only 50% better” as an argument that we should avoid him.
  11. I’ve long chalked up part of the Gilmore dislike to a lack of good benchmarking. Winfield, clements, Greer, McGee, Gilmore, Darby, White.... its a better run at CB than most teams have had. I think it really skewed a lot of fans perception of normal CB play around the league. add the myth of revis island in the division and suddenly things get real screwy with expectations there are a few spots I think the fan base got a little out of touch - how good our CB play has often been, and our fear of ever spending money jump to mind.
  12. Many are stock levels, for various offenses (roughness or sportsmanlike for instance)
  13. I’d hope GMs communicate with their coordinators
  14. Seems much more a daboll
  15. Surely they do. That doesn’t mean it gets to the father of a guy they may not even be interested in before they can even contact players. It unfortunately also might not be the type type of thing that registers with a certain segment of players that hear buffalo and think “cold, bad, broke” and have 3 hours of interaction with the city in their first 4 years in the league and that’s sitting in a locker room that might be the worst they’ve seen since high school.
  16. Yea, I mean it could’ve been Brees getting 2-3m more than a team friendly deal, or it could’ve been the league leading dead money from signing and then cutting/trading big deals with galette, Graham, etc... i tend to believe the 40m a year for players not on the roster was worse than the extra 3m for a HOF qb contract
  17. Our window, if Allen’s great is the next decade - but for the next 3 years we can put a better 52 men around our qb than any other time.
  18. This is literally the spot where we can and should push chips on the table for a 3 year window
  19. So you can’t trust stats but you can trust your eyes but you didn’t watch bortles but allen must have been better because bortles got benched (ignoring allen losing out to peterman) when ranking passers in 2018 Snarkier than intended but you have to admit it’s a tiny bit amusing that youre knocking a guys rankings for not watching based on the fact that you didn’t watch.
  20. What specifically makes you think that he hasn’t watched enough to have an opinion? i don’t think the standard is perfection but I’m guessing he’s seen most games
  21. But that’s not the metric he used for his ranking. Thats the paramount thing in any of these lists. The first thing you have to read is what the basis for any ranking is. Best qb today? For 2019? To start a franchise with tomorrow in a madden style draft? Last year? Career to date? As a pocket passer? Do we like mobility? The list will swing drastically between those options. If looking for the best passers of 2018- Allen is going to be pretty low.
  22. He had faaaar more bad seasons than good before the rule changes too.
  23. Its a tight league. Many teams could see big swings with cherry picking a handful of plays to swap. he needs to step up and keep improving. Some guys do that, some don’t. Hopefully he does.
  24. But why make the contract riskier when you could just carry over unused money? the only time it really makes sense is to create space now, not later.
  25. It would be that 2nd AND the free agent dollars. For instance would you rather have him or a top 3-4 free agent wr and a second round WR? for a guy like Julio or brown I strongly consider a move. For Anderson I’m less interested. As to the age argument- I’m not terribly convinced of Anderson’s longevity in this league
