Eh, not sure this is really accurate. The Bills drafted an elite CB in the first round and paid him elite CB money. They have spent 2 first round picks on CBs in the last 4 drafts to replace him. McD is very good at scheming up/hiding CB2’s. I think they really like uber expensive CBs if they are elite.

I didn’t watch every snap or even every Jets game but I came away thinking that Gardiner was a player whose reputation was better than what I saw on the field. He didn’t exactly blow me away in year 3 -

Am I crazy to think he's overrated? Am I also crazy to think he has an invisibility cloak that allows him to CONSTANTLY get away with committing holding and DPI penalties without the refs noticing? Is it because he has a cool nickname? If he was called Frank Smith, would he still get the accolades and the bag he just got? Whatever. Wake me when Woody Johnson is gone or they have a quarterback. -
I have to be honest that I chose an ebike before hitting Ventoux. It was difficult even with an ebike. I might still be pedaling with a regular road bike. One item I recall is how dry it seems going up that mountain and you have to continually drink a lot of water even though you may not be sweating much. I helped treat a couple of riders that collapsed when they reached the peak lookout. They were dehydrated. i have more respect for the condition the riders are in.

So screw kids with disabilities or development delays, or in low-income households / areas? Stop enforcing civil rights in the education space? It really feels like much of MAGA is "I don't like the status quo but instead of trying to actually fix anything, I'd like to burn the house to the ground and make everything worse."

The flood alarm systems were state legislative proposals that the Texas GOP repeatedly turned down, dating back to 2017. The weather balloon equipment is federal government property of the NOAA and NWS, with the DOGE cuts this year hampering their efficacy. “Hindsight is always 20/20,” you say. “Science is foresight,” says Kay. Criticize me for politicizing a natural disaster, if you’d like, but I think it’s disgraceful how reactionaries are shirking responsibility for their failed policies. Whatever. Let’s see if the fossil fuel-obsessed citizens of Texas can at least learn lessons from these floods. Maybe consider taking climate change seriously? Maybe have an actual state income tax to fund disaster relief and prevention measures? I’d rather not hijack this thread by spending too much time on the Gaza topic. A few notes: 1. You meant to say “Hamas,” not “Hezbollah.” Hamas is in Gaza, while Hezbollah is north in Lebanon. 2. Ethnic cleansing is defined as “the forced and systematic removal of an ethnic group in a particular area, for the purpose of making that area ethnically homogeneous.” This is EXACTLY what Israel is doing in Gaza. The northern portion has already been ethnically cleansed. Likud party leaders and Trump have already publicly declared their intentions of a full ethnic cleansing in Gaza. Israel’s food and aid blockade, destruction of hospitals and schools, full city razing, and well-documented war crimes on civilians and journalists is fulfilling their ultimate objective: make life there so intolerable that nearby Arab nations will be pressured to accept Gazan refugees en masse. The West Bank is next, by the way, according to Likud party leaders. Apartheid isn’t enough for these sociopathic degenerates. 3. The conflict didn’t begin with Hamas on 10/7/23. This has been a turbulent back-and-forth between Israel and Hamas since the Second Intifada. Neither side has a clear conscience. Since Gazans are the descendants of ethnically cleansed Palestinians in 1948, I’d actually set the genesis of conflict to the very conception of Zionism. And since Zionism is an illegitimate political and philosophical and religious movement entwined with ethnic cleansing, then yeah…I’m blaming Israel for starting it all. Don’t steal people’s land and expect them to not fight back. -
Predict Most improved/Most likely to regress
sunshynman replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
Improve: Coleman, Samuel, Dalton, Cook, That WR from Cleveland Regress: probably Taron, maybe Milano (if he plays log enough) For those saying Daquon, he already regressed. Not sure he makes the team this year. If so it's a spot role, so maybe he actual improves. -

This is the advantage of the McD scheme that everyone hates so much. You don’t need the Uber Expensive lockdown cover CB’s, so you can afford the rest of the team. EDIT: To be fair, those overly soft cushions kill me too. -

This move and yesterday's move puts them squarely in Dick Jauron territory for the next few years Just good enough for a few wins against the real bottom feeders, but no QB - and thus, a very low ceiling Plus, maxing out against the cap just to chase mediocrity It's wonderful being in a division with the Jets and Dolphins having similar roster-building philosophies The Pats deserve at least 12 more years of mediocrity too

Yep. It’s all about the “fan experience” and all the amenities that implies. Creates more unshared revenue streams for the owners, which has been mandated by the league for all intents and purposes. Many folks have been priced out as a result. -

The plan is to draft a QB in a year or 2 with key players locked up while the QB is on a rookie contract for at least 3 years. Not a bad plan if they find the right QB, but the last time the Jets drafted the right QB was 2000 when they drafted Chad Pennington, and even then it was the same year NE drafted Tom Brady 5 rounds later. -
Seems like a fair amount of effort for something nobody other than billslander is going to read. I’m sure it did something for you. Congrats.
