That all might be true. It probably is true. but does Josh need McDermott now?

Rest in peace, is it half of TBD or the 2025 Buffalo Bills?

Buy AOL and Myspace So lets see - you mean the defense that even McD said somewhere between 0 and 1 on a scale of 1-10 was spent actually game planning for this game? Or do you mean the starters whose priority is not to go hard but to get a feel for contact and game speed while trying to not get hurt like Taron almost did going too hard? Drawing conclusions from the first preseason game is about as realistic as the emails you get from Prince's in Africa who need your help to get their money to the US. -

How do you know!?!?! -
The problem is you're discounting McDermott's impact on Josh getting to that elite level of talent. Having good coaching, and culture is important to young quarterbacks. That doesnt exist here without McDermott.

Agreed. Health is #1 for sure. I was more alluding to if he looks good and back to form in the post I had quoted.

Could be worse, our starting LT could get beat on a rep by a highly regarded rookie DE… ohhhh wait, never mind we’re doomed -

Jesus. Preseason, zero game plan, starters probably told to go easy. And then the scrubs came in. Who cares if there are sacks in preseason. You guys are a bunch of whiners. -

I'm listening... I can agree to disagree, respectfully. Keep in mind, the outcome of the game in total wasn't what I was concerned about, it was the defense lo0oking every bit the same recycled garbage from last year. -
I am shocked AJE did not receive a vote. He is dissed on here continuously. I am afraid to respond that I don't think he is that bad.

Ugh...on most folks assumptions on the hard $. Guy does one little tweet and we are dead set he wants huge Barkley money. I admit I don't know how this will turn out or where it is. My honest guess is the Bills offer / ball park is 8-10 million. Cook wanted 12-14....but maybe now w Williams deal things are getting clearer. Bills just don't overpay guys. Especially lately. The bottom line is he's not a 3 down back like Williams. Can't block well. It's also very possible Bills strategic plan is just not to pay him. God knows. I'm honestly not sure. I definitely want them to get a deal done though.
-
He hasn't asked to be paid like Barkley. He asked high because that is normal for any negotiations. Also we have no idea what his agent actually asked for. That is important to keep in mind. We also have no idea what Shakir would have asked for had he not been resigned. Shakir has accounted for 9 touchdowns in his career about a third of Cook's. Cook deserves more money than shakir because he is a better player and produces more. He is better than Williams whether or not he plays all 3 downs also. He is a unique playmaker and is a perfect fit with this team. IMO, he should have been paid before Shakir and then they could have gone to Shakir with his deal. Giving Cook 3 or 4 years at 12 or 13 million is not going to stop the team from doing business with the guys they want to keep going forward.

Now do the defense

To be fair I’ve seen many posters take one side or the other and portray the other as the unreasonable “bad guy”. Based on the other deals that Bean has done and Cook’s representation I’ve been of the opinion that it is more likely that the Bills are more in line with the market than Cook’s agent. That all said, none of us know what the Bills have offered or what Cook’s agent has asked for. We don’t know which - or even if either - is being unreasonable. Sometimes there’s just an unbridgeable gap and a team and player have to find a way through the season. Hopefully that’s not the case and they still come to an agreement before the season starts. Also I’m not worried about this being a true problem until it gets to week one.

Surprises from Giants Pre-Season Game on 8/9/25
dorquemada replied to DeepPass's topic in The Stadium Wall
no you dont understand it's reverse psychology, this is actually the greatest D line that's ever existed, but they'll keep pool sharking the opposition year after year and lull them into a sense of complacency then around 2040 BOOM they'll get a sack -
Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-season game 1
Coach Tuesday replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't think it's that, I think it's about his health. If he holds up the entire season I could see them offering him a market contract to stay another 3 years. If he doesn't, he'll have to decide what's best for his career and might end up taking less to stay put. -

How many snaps did Coleman get ? -
So we are adjusting to what our current roster is built. So what exactly are you criticizing then? The problem is you're over exaggerating our "lack of" offensive talent simply because you want us to build like the Bengals. So if we lack talent, that means coaching must be good then right? Even the mighty Chiefs haven't been able to sustain strong offensively with their genius offensive mind and all world QB. They have averaged 21 and 22 ppg two years in a row and that's Tyrod Taylor level ppg production. Just because we aren't built like you want doesn't mean it's bad. We haven't been worse than 6th in the league in scoring 5 straight years and that's incredible but you will find a way to criticize....it's called a narrative.

DOGE Big Balls Assaulted in DC
Artful Dodger replied to BillsFanNC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The thing about Trump is that you never really know what's going on. Is he trying to restore sanity to Washington, DC? I live in the DC suburbs, and the city is a disorderly mess and there are a lot of homeless people, but why now? Other than the omnipresent smell of weed which is deeply annoying, it's a lot safer than it was a few years ago when one congressman got carjacked and a congresswoman got assaulted within the same year. Is he creating a diversion to troll his political opponents just because he enjoys pushing their buttons? When he successfully pushes their buttons, they often act as if they're insane, and that certainly helps him politically. Or is there something more sinister at work here? Who knows? Maybe not even Trump. -

Correct. Soft soft soft, waiting, hoping for a turnover. Seems like they could do that without spending the entire draft on D -
