That could be but he's been simply awful overall. Like I said, the way he is playing and Strong was trending Strong might have been playing instead by now. He's not played like a starting NFL CB this year let alone a good one. In some ways it was like the Tre extension because neither had a lot of room for physical decline before it was going to knock them far down the list.

I mean he just did a massive philosophy shift away after daboll.... Why?

Josh Training With Maye In Offseason.

Allen hired Ken Dorsey and Joe Brady. Allen gave a big contract extension to his buddy Dawson Knox. Allen drafted Keon Coleman. Allen coached up our division rival's QB. Can we get rid of this guy already? It's not too late for Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane to clean up the mess he's left us. -
Allen missed a wide open Knox on the final play

Woah, mesh on the most important passing down of the game! Fortunately, NFL defenses don't spend their free time watching past games or looking into play calling tendencies! For real though, Joe Brady's entire passing philosophy boils down to "unga bunga ball catcher run into bad man." That 2019 LSU offense was so talented that they averaged 48 points a game with this dude as the passing game coordinator. -
Remember when we were wondering when we would lose our first game?

Cleveland offense is nothing compared to Houston. Houston has a passable wild card offense - Cleveland is terrible.

Remaining Schedule, how will this play out?
transplantbillsfan replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
McDermott historically does a great job rallying his team off a loss, especially with extra rest so I think we win against Pittsburgh. As for the rest of the games I have no predictions other than I don't think we'll lose more than 2 of those remaining games. But they could be to anyone. -
I still believe our 3-13 season was one of my favorites. Zero expectations, everything was a bonus. Having Super Bowl expectations these past few years has only resulted in crushing disappointment

if we are judging with a constant standard, benford was a worse signing than groot. he's hurt more, a rookie (max) and a second year guy (bishop) have had more big plays than he has, and most importantly he's being paid like 65-70% of what a top guy at his position gets, while groot is getting under 50%. now, the reality is benford has not been himself and has been hurt, if benford stays healthy it will be a decent to good signing, same w groot. cook was a slam dunk, shakir is a good bill but i think you can get guys like him so he's not that super important to us imo, but im not the qb or coach so i could be wrong. from a production pov shakir is worth it even w his injuries and mistakes so far. bernard just isn't good enough imo. he had that one year where he filled out the stat sheet after edmunds left, which made me think it was a good non signing of edmunds, but i think we signed the wrong 2 of the 3 lbs we drafted. i love hoyt but his suspension and injuries make him zero, obiewan has been decent but the suspension hurts. bosa has been an outstanding signing for us, even tho he's hurt now. samuel, knox, milano, taron, palmer (i like him, but he's simply not produced), coderington, rapp, possibly ed due to injures, and before that von white, and diggs (and the safties when they got old)are the reason why we have holes in the roster. the value we've gotten from them (in many cases zero as they left the team or were hurt) would easily be replaced with draft picks, allowing us to sign some actual studs.

The Bills can beat absolutely anyone and can lose to absolutely anyone. For that reason, they can not only make, but win a Super Bowl. Not predicting it, but it won't be some outlandish occurrence if that happens.

Allen missed a wide open Knox on the final play
HappyDays replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah it's not too late. He could go the Matt Stafford route if we can't get him across the finish line here. I remember when Stafford was known as an overrated QB who couldn't get Detroit deep into the playoffs. Naturally he won a Super Bowl as soon as he got with a legit franchise and this year he's an MVP candidate. His legacy was cemented by a change in his circumstances. Of course I hope with Allen that change happens here. I'm not sure Pegula is ruthless enough to do what's necessary. -
Yes. The expectations and pressure seem to be getting to this team as a whole. Allen is the perfect example. He seems to be trying too hard and it's causing mistakes. Other players too. Fumbling the ball multiple times after having just gotten the first down is egregious. This team used to play loose. Now they've lost their swagger. And I don't think they know how to get it back.

This sounds like the current political climate in the US

Probably a lot to this. Sucks that it’s valid when they haven’t even made a Super Bowl, let alone won it. These teams also play first place schedules every year and play deep into the season. Buffalo and KC just look worn out half the time. KC justifiably. BUF probably justifiably too, but it’s pathetic to have to acknowledge that when they haven’t truly won anything. Titans and Giants vs Texans and Eagles could be the difference in who wins the Division. Bills, Chiefs and Ravens get everyone’s best shot in this conference. Been this way for years now. As a positive, it makes you think they can turn it on when it matters, like KC. But as a team who’s yet to win a road playoff game, what happens in the regular season likely means you’ll have to win 3 of them.

Imagine doing the same thing over and over and over and over........and you get the exact same results, but your narcissistic/sociopathic mind believes that you are actually doing things different AND for the better. Now, imagine being surrounded by like-minded people in a position of power and influence who believe they are the smartest ones in the room and are the ones calling the shots that the results are different and gaslighting a whole industry. I imagine it would get extremely mentally exhausting.

3 out of 4 of us still Billieve

Man, you guys can be brutal after losses. It was a short week, we had a lot of injuries, playing the #1 defense in the league on the road, who were fighting for their playoff lives (with the win, their playoff chances are 47%, with a loss last night their playoff chances would have dropped to 22%) and we were still just half of Gabe Davis' foot away from winning it or a Prater XP away from tying it (no matter how brutal it looked at times). Teams always get up a bit extra for us, and for the Texans, this was like a playoff game. I'm not saying there aren't problems and issues with both sides of the ball right now, but... To say this is a sub .500 team (with no talent and bad coaching), without Josh, seems a bit much. First of all, who would be the replacement at QB? You mean if we didn't have Josh and Trubisky was our starter (or a bottom barrel starting QB)? Well, sure, you could say that about any team with a good QB. Any team with a stud QB is going to be worse without said QB. [In the 5 years Reid was in K.C. before Mahomes, they missed the playoffs one year, and lost their first round playoff game 3 of 4 times. Their playoff record was 1-4. And that was with a #1 overall pick at QB---though he never quite lived up to that level]. Now, if you put another good QB (not elite, just above average) on the team, that is a different matter. Are we a sub .500 team no matter who is QB? What if the QB was Mahomes, or Jackson, or Burrow, or Maye, or Hurts, or Herbert, or Mayfield, or Prescott, or Stafford, or Goff, or Alex Smith even...are we still below .500? It is silly to assume that if we didn't have Josh, we would automatically be playing with one of the worst QBs in the league without the team trying to upgrade the position. No coach wins consistently with a bad QB. Also, if we didn't have Josh, the makeup of the team would be different. We wouldn't be paying Josh his huge salary and could use that money elsewhere, we probably wouldn't be drafting as low as we do (I know that was part of your post Guns), their might be more emphasis on getting a stud receiver to help compensate for the worse QB, etc., etc. Over the last 5-1/2 seasons, we are 68-26 (.723% win percentage). We would need to lose 5 more games per season (across 6 seasons) to be below .500 with this staff. If we had one of the worst QBs in the league, sure, we might lose 5 or more extra games per year (most teams/coaches would), but again, if it wasn't Josh, but instead another competent (above average---not even elite) QB, I just don't see us being one of the worst teams in the league. We would still have a top 5 O-line, a top 5 RB room, a top 5-10 TE room. The offense would be called differently, etc. Just seems like a bit of disappointed hyperbole to me to say we would be one of the worst teams in the league without Josh.

Allen missed a wide open Knox on the final play

He's 29 yrs old and a big horse in good health. His legacy is nowhere near written yet. Whether it's here or somewhere else, I think he'll get what he's earned and be justly remembered as the 1st ballot HOF'er and game-changing QB he's been. -

And I was talking about Knox. -
I don't know if I'd call him "great" this year. But PFF would.........he is their 9th rated DE/edge in the NFL this season. There are still so many people on TSW who are utterly clueless about football. Benford, on the other hand, has been shite. The light is out in his eyes. He looks like he is just trying to survive the headache. That play where Bishop had to shoe-string tackle Collins last night.......2024 Benford helps tackle that guy. He doesn't want it and when he has to make a tackle he gets up looking like he's just seen a ghost. Scairt.

Cleveland has a very good defense. Could be a repeat performance from last night
