Next week, Buffalo plays Cleveland.  If Buffalo lets Cleveland stay close, they deserve to miss the playoffs.  Yeah, Cleveland has a physical defense and the best defensive end in the game, but they've only won 3 games.

A lot of teams have injuries.  IMO a reasonable expectation for the D is to be middle of the pack holding the opponent to 17 - 24 points per game.  The Bills have focused their offensive strategy and the lions share of draft & FA capital on support of the D.  Letting teams get up by multiple TD's on the first half is not acceptable.  Sure they played a lot better in the 2nd half but by that point the Bills needed an almost perfect performance by the O to grab the win.

Man at this point I would even take just a decent WR. Like Jakobi Meyers right now would be the best WR on the team. Palmer despite his supposedly great "separation metrics" is a weekly no show. Coleman has somehow gotten worse than ever. Cooks is obviously washed. Shakir is our best overall WR but looks to me like he is still playing hurt and he is inconsistent at best getting open on downfield routes. As pessimistic as I was about the room before the season it ended up being significantly worse than even I expected. Failing to make any kind of trade at the deadline is almost unfathomable.

 

Like you said the blocking and the TEs are very very good if not great, so that combined with Allen and Cook doing their thing might be enough. If it was like 2020 with KC and the Ravens still at their best I'd give this team no chance. With the state of the conference as it is though we are just one of many teams with a glaring weakness so maybe we can slip through.

L’il Jordan Humphrey was sitting there on the waiver wire a couple weeks ago and he’s out there today playing a key supporting role for the Broncos.  Didn’t we look at him in the offseason?  In any event there are just too many chances they don’t take at that position.

Just heard that NE only had one first down in the second half for the Pats.  It was the Diggs crosser 🙂  Heard on Pats radio.  One first down on 15 plays in second half.

Allen, Cook, the TE's and the O line might be historically great churning out yards & points without a competent WR room.  I'm not sure I've seen anything like it in the 21st century NFL.

 

It also has me thinking that Brady may be doing a much better job then a lot of us think.  He isn't aggressive throwing downfield because he knows his WR's are epically bad.  Thin about that first pass of the game to Cooks.  Great call, great design and he drops the ball?  A HS WR would be upset at himself for that play.

He’s not the type of player they need imo and kinda closer to the reverse lol cooks looks like he could be serviceable as a deep threat.  Humphrey would not see the field here with Gabe having some rapport with Josh already

These takes always make me laugh. It was constant said throughout the week by tons of people “I don’t care how they win, how ugly the game is, just win the game” and then as soon as the game ends people complain about the win.
