I don't see any possibility this happens without McDermott's approval.

Ā

I think they were both upset, but not necessarily with each other. Things happen and people get pissed off. It happens on the field too. You move on.Ā

This thread discussion is like speculating on the breakup of Beavis and Butthead, of Peanut Butter and Jelly, of Hawn and Russell, of Sonny and Cher (*****, bad reference)....

Ā

If there is a problem, we will be the last to know...but I think I heard Joe Schoen and Dan Morgan were making eyes at McD...

I don't know about divide, but McD was 100000% upset about losing Ingram.

But would he still have been upset if Slay showed up with his lunch pail?

I could just be misinterpreting, but McD certainly did not seem like he approved of that deal.Ā

I don't know, and I don't necessarily see any of what we do know as a smoking gun. My two sources over recent years are both no longer in the organisation.Ā

Ā

But it would not surprise me. The Bills have underachieved in 2025 to this point. That creates tension and it is against a background where both know there is an external pressure on them to get over the hump.

McDermott does not have approval over roster moves. Beane has control of the 53. Now previously I was always told they were very aligned so going back at least to two years ago I am certain they at least talk before this decision. But if there is a wider tension from this year as is speculated can I imagine a situation where they disagreed who the guy to expose to waivers was? Certainly.Ā

Ā

And here is my completely unfounded conspiratorial theory..... McDermott may well have wanted it to be Keon. The way that pick has worked out it is BOUND to have created tension. I can imagine McDermott being like "Brandon you can miss on talent that happens, but how the eff do you miss on a person so badly?" I think McDermott is done with Coleman. He won't be on the roster in 2026 IMO.

Maybe but it'll all be buried because we're about to win the Super Bowl!

Ā

The AFC playoffs look like a 3 week stretch in the middle of the season in between prime time gamesĀ

Love the positivity. Hope you’re rightĀ

There has been some rumblings on wgr lately as well. Not sure if its real or not they keep things pretty tight at OBD. But the rumors are out there.

Agreed, but we are at the point yhere isĀ  virtually no faith in the GM. And when you see this with a HC, the GM has to go,it won't be the coach.

I can’t say there is no faith in Beane. This offseason will be huge to see what he does to give Josh better weapons, while adding a piece or two on D. Dude has a lot of work ahead.

Ā

From what has been stated previously, McD may have more pull with ownership. And that is where it can go bad quickly. When two people are trying to save their own skins and potentially throwing one another under the bus.

Ā

Would not have pictured either of them doing that until Beanes WR radio performance.

I have full faith that we can speak this divide into existence for anyone reading this board.Ā

I don’t see a divide, I see idol banter, 😁

I’ll restate what I believe would work. Ā After the seasons.

Ā

After the season…

Ā

1. Ā Terry pulls in Beane privately and fires him.

Ā

2. Ā McD is forced by Terry to do two things.

Ā  A. Ā McD, you run the defense, and Babich can be your assistant. Ā Not up for a negotiation.

Ā  B. Ā Daboll is now our offensive coordinator, and you want to keep Brady as a position coach, fine, but that’s it.

Ā

Daboll can find the creativity to make this work and he can use Cook effectively, but the next GM is damn well going to get WR’s. Ā We already have the OL, TE’s, RB’s, amd most importantly the QB.

Ā

We only need to fix one last thing on offense. Ā I’m done with blowing everything we have on defense.

I have my issues with McD...BUT...I think if he had a better roster at his disposal he can coach them up. I think between the two, Beane has made more blunders that have set us back than McD has (13 seconds not withstanding).
