Yes.

i often asked why Elam was on the roster because he sucked and was never active.

Turns out he really sucks and is borderline out of the league.

The answer is that Beano thought Elam and Ingram were NOT worthless players, otherwise they would have been dumped long ago. He was clearly wrong on Elam.

And yet Elam played over Ingram in the playoffs last year.

Yeah I assume if we win it might allow him to adjust his thought process unless he's hell bent to only finish this season with Philly if so, sorry not sorry but rules are rules and if you fail to report we put you on that list and you enjoy your time off. As I'm not helping Philly especially with them on the regular season schedule and maybe after.

That would give him an opportunity to quit at halftime.

Yea that's a bad look for Beane. Was Ingram a critical piece? No. But did he provide some useful depth? Yep. Should you throw that away for a 34 year old? No.

That's sort of the head scratcher for me. Slay just isn't an upgrade for Benford, Tre, or Hairston at this point.

They've invested a ton into Ingram who is a better athlete right now and can do a little bit of everything on the back end.

For Slay to have a major positive impact at this point in his career and the calendar we'd have to have a lot of things go wrong (injuries) and he'd have to start suddenly playing at a high level this year. Otherwise Ingram is the better roster fit.

I agree it's a bad look on Beane but not because Ingram > Slay - no, that is just crazy talk.  But it is bad because we lost Ingram.

But to Beane's credit you don't just let Slay move from toasted Pitt over to starting for a contender.  The Bills play Philly at least once more this season and Beane is not letting this happen.

I liked the idea of Ingram playing because he’s a big corner and durable unlike most of our D. I wanted to see him out there hitting people in run support and challenging receivers in press coverage.  But he just never saw the field. That tells me he wasn’t reading the play within the scheme, out of position too often, or just lacks the skills to stay with any receiver.

Goin on that podcast really kinda seemed like a good acting job trying to get the bills to release him so he could immediately run to Philly haha. No shot we fall for that and maybe he isn’t ready to hang it up and comes crawling back.

Ingram just wasn't very good. He got his most snaps against KC and at times looked completely lost in those snaps. He got a few snaps the following week against Miami and since then he's been inactive in every game. He wasn't very good in run support either. The long Bijan Robinson TD run happened in part because Ingram couldn't get any kind of leverage against his blocking WR to make Bijan slow his feet. I get that he's been in our system but to me Dane Jackson and Ingram are identical in terms of impact on the field. Hopefully we never have to find out what it looks like if 2 of Benford, White, and Hairston get injured.

I don’t really understand why Houston signed him tbh haha I think when Lassiter comes back Ingram will get the boot probably

To hurt the Bills, a rival in the conference.

Slay is clearly an upgrade over Ingram, who is a borderline practice squad player. And what did the Bills invest in Ingram? He was an undrafted free agent. He has been a practice squad and bottom of the roster player for a couple of years.

I'm not sure why anyone is getting worked up about him.

Beane's had a couple rough months here.

Not really!

It's just that there's a  contingent that want Beane and McD gone and think the team will be better if that happens.  Anytime they can find even the slightest thing to pile on and rip either of them, it's a feeding frenzy.  Like a couple people posted when was the last time Ingram played, but lets make this into a big deal!

They’re taking up a roster spot and paying out some cash to pretty much imperceptibly hurt a single conference rival they might not even see in a game again?  I think we’re being a tad dramatic about this 😂

the discourse around this has been weird like I get everyone looks for every reason to hate beane but there’s plenty of valid ones already that people can stick to.  This feels like the convo is getting warped to maximize the beane hatred to me lol
