Joe is one of my regular podcast listens. I also love Pat Moran on talking Buffalo to get a more emotional fan based take. 

 

What I think Joe does very well is understanding a team’s weaknesses and how to attack them. He was dead right about how to attack the Atlanta D and what to expect, while Brady did the exact opposite and got destroyed. Same with Houston. He was banging the drum about Houston’s defensive ends and the need to keep running the ball to keep them from teeing off, and again Brady did the exact opposite. He’s not a savant, he gets a lot wrong, but he’s pretty straight forward in how he justifies his opinions. You can agree or disagree but you’ll know the why.

 

I think Joe is getting salty because he doesn’t understand why Brady develops the game plans he does because they don’t attack an opponents weaknesses. 

 

For pure post-game enjoyment listen to Pat Moran and Joe from Queens after a game. It’s a fun rant when we lose and cathartic. Pat will come back the next day with a more measured take about what he felt went right or wrong, but the post game when he’s losing his sht after a loss is all of us.

A lot of talking heads saying this is must win for Pittsburgh... I'm not so sure. They have the four spot right now. Baltimore is going to lose more games too. I don't really see it as oh so urgent for Pittsburgh, especially how crappy Baltimore looks.

I don't see that change from Joe. Still very sensible. He's always been ultra low on picking Bills or big wins. Guess he wants to maintain cred in that locked on group. Does not want to seem like a homer.

The thing is, as much as he needed an attitude adjustment, I am just not sure the physical talent and killer mentality are in there.  A fire under his butt isn't going to make him run any faster, improve his footwork and route running, or be able to create separation at the top of routes either through deception or physicality.  A lot of that stuff you either have in you or you don't.  And until he can prove to get any type of separation down the field with consistency, teams aren't going to respect him and I haven't seen anything to this point that's encouraging outside of a couple great jump ball catches (and even then, he's been worse at contested catches than he was projected to be as well).  He couldn't do this stuff in college and the NFL is just an entirely different level.  Didn't see it then, don't see it now.  But man, we really could use him to be serviceable at least.  We'd all love him to turn into Anquan Boldin overnight, but it's more than between the ears, focus, and not missing meetings to get there.

It’s not a must win for them.  That’s just people being over the top. 
 

If we beat them, they’d have the same record as Baltimore with 2 games remaining against each other and of the 3 other games remaining… I’d take the Steelers schedule over Baltimore’s. 
 

Dolphins, Lions, Browns vs Patriots, Packers, Bengals

 

Even if we beat the Bengals and, probably, end their playoff hopes.. that game would be Burrow’s return to his home crowd against Baltimore.

Steelers are going to make the playoffs at 9-8 and a 10-7 AFC team is going to miss. They just have to split with the Ravens.

Agreed. I think his saltiness is valid. He is a regular listen, for sure.

Yeah he’s still slight homer but his anger is starting to show because you really can’t defend these idiots at this point.

McDermott and Tomlin were college teammates at W&M. They will both be seeing this as a must win.
