Loved Micah but I think Bishop has a much higher ceiling than that

I look at it as he has the potential to have Hyde's instincts matched with Jarius Byrd's ball hawk abilities.

He's a very exciting player to watch. I believe he and Max will really shore up that secondary for years to come.. especially if Benford remembers how to play football.

Way beyond Micah Hyde.  Bishop is bigger and both have the same speed.  Bishop has had two breakout games this year with an extremely high limit.  He will only get better with experience.

Just to add to that thought, Micah Hyde's RAS score was 4.73 compared to Bishop's 9.88.

For anyone selling him short, just remember: Micah Hyde couldnt find steady starting work on the Packers and would fill in at Nickel Back, and Jordan Poyer couldnt even crack the starting line up of the Browns 0-32 teams. It took them years to develop into the players we are familiar with.

Tough to wait all that time, and I hope Bishop has a much higher learning rate, but there is still a lot of time to develop.

I guess i’m not as high on Bishop as others in this thread seem to be.

Are you all watching what he is doing on plays where he is NOT intercepting the ball? I know those get the attention, but the other plays count to and he is making a lot of mistakes.

That being said, he is definitely improving and getting better. I’m shocked at those saying he has a chance to be better than Micah. Maybe physically, but as an overall player I would say we hit a home run if he even reaches Micah’s level.

His ceiling is as high as his mental processing will allow for. He's getting better in that area but it's still absolutely a work in progress for a young player.

The HOF shouts at this junction are insane lol

He didn't pick off any passes vs the Chiefs but was obviously a difference maker (in a good way) in that game.

I think Bishop has the potential to be excellent

Love what he's shown this far, I just don't want to project him too high is all

Agree physically he's in a different tier, just thinking what a successful career would look like

I think its too early to say. Clearly he has made a huge leap the past few weeks. Last year and early this year he was really looking lost and lacking confidence to just play. Now he has confidence for sure. But what is still hard to say is how many mistakes he is making? These long runs the Bills keep giving up are many times on the safeties taking bad angles turning a 10 yard run into 40. There are still pass plays where he is a bit late getting there. All that said I am hopeful. Hopefully his confidence continues to grow and he can put it all together.

Yeah that was his best overall game as a pro.

Hyde's first Pro Bowl and first All Pro was 2017, his 5th season in the NFL.

I think folks are thinking if we gave Bishop 5 years to develop, he should be at least to that level. I'm assuming if he stays on his path, he'll have at least a Pro Bowl before year 5.

Damn Beane, always drafting losers like this!   :)

He’s a classic case of a guy who needs some time, but his upside is actually more than I expected. I was hoping he could improve to “decent”, but he’s done much more than that. It seems things have slowed down for him and he’s become a playmaker.

I never wish for injuries on any team. But Rapp being out has been the best thing for Bishop. Poyer, I think, should get some credit for Bishops growth. Which has been terrific to watch. This defense needs someone to step up.

Mad Max looks like he could be heading in that direction as well. 5 INTs between the 2 of them.

As Bishop gains confidence and experience he will be a huge asset for our defense. Could become a game changer. People here seem to have short memories. Hyde, outside of George Saimes and possibly Tony Green, may have been our best safety. Made a ton of amazing plays, including the interception against the Patriots in the playoff game where he came all the way across the field and picked it off, and always in position, and great against the run. Also very good and reliable on special teams.
