Should we look to trade Keon after this season?

Coleman reminds me alot of another former Florida State WR Beane brought over from Carolina named Kelvin Benjamin. Also with a very similar build, separation issues and motivational problems, I think beane has a certain type of WR.

I'm not quite sure he's the type of player that the Bills are looking for or at least he hasn't shown that to this point and maybe he needs a change already who knows what his deal is but they don't need this kind of thing happening .

 

Plus with Gabe showing he still has some chemistry with Josh Coleman may have lost his spot anyway if Gabe continues to do the things he did yesterday .

I mean, sure I guess. You may get a pick swap or a day 3 pick. His value is not high. It’ll look similar to what you got for Elam. Whether you trade him, cut him, or keep him, you shouldn’t be planning on him being a part of your core group. If he develops and overachieves, fantastic. The biggest mistake that they made with Keon was convincing themselves that he was something that he was not.

I would guess a late sixth or even a sixth-seventh swap to a team that may have had a second/third round grade on him but as a big slot. Sean Payton likes those sorts of players. It would seem to me that his ceiling is as a Marques Colston-type slot. Not suggesting he'll get there, of course, but that's probably his ideal position.

(and keep him out of New England where, with our luck, he figures it out, grows up, and Vrable turns him into a HoFer )

If a guy runs a 4.65 40, can’t separate in college and has mediocre at best production in college he’s not going to turn into a 4.4 guy who can separate in the NFL. you don’t waste pick #33 on him. You probably pick him in the 4th or 5th.
 

Just a horrible pick by Beane. Beane can’t analyze WRs nor DLmen and it’s costing us. We must have by far the worst front 7 in football (defense) and instead of trading for a Calais Campbell type AND a horrible Harry (these types woud cost day 3 picks) he got played by the backup GM team in Miami 

 

of course Pegula would never fire Beane, he won’t even fire Adams. And  I do think there is tension between McDermott and Beane 

Sometimes i wish we’d take the best available instead of Beane trying to get too cute.

I voted no, because i think trading players when the value is tanked is kinda dumb.  The likelihood of it making you look bad is much higher than the 6-7 pick swap we would get.  I doubt the WRs stay healthy all year - Samuel misses time constantly, same with Gabe, and Palmer already had a high ankle sprain - so there's also potential for him to get back in the rotation and make some plays.

I mean like any trade it just depends what you can get. If it's Coleman and a 7th for a 6th I'd say no. But if someone sees a young WR on a rookie deal and wants to do something like Coleman and a 6th for a 3rd then yeah sure. (insert joke about 3rd round Bills picks here)

 

The rest of the season will dictate a lot. Does Coleman learn/respond from this? Is he even active? If he doesn't even see the field the rest of the way then yeah I'd probably trade him for anything assuming we plan to take a swing for a top WR anyway this spring.

The Cowboys gave up a 4th for Trey Lance and that other bust WR from Carolina.

 

I feel like we should call the Cowboys actually.

I will say re: Keon,

 

him being loose pregame is better than him sulking. Hopefully this is a wakeup call. I still think he could be a good slot WR.

We got a 2025 5th & 2026 7th in exchange for a 2025 6th (I think). I’d take that deal tomorrow

He need to go at this point, the coaches and players likely don't want him around.  Maybe he changed his mind and doesn't want to play football at this level, have to think there are some guys who thought big dollars, until they got beat up a little or saw what was needed to stay in the league.

 

Give more reps to a hungry guy.... KC is a sunk cost at this point.

and despite all this Keon has put up numbers that are similar to those other WRs drafted around him in the same draft class. Yet I know I know stats don't matter only when they do when want to complain that he's not as good as McConkey, who isn't the type of WR we needed when we drafted Coleman.  I mean Coleman had as many yards as Ricky Pearsall (drafted 7 spots before him) had yesterday on 1 less catch.
