He was coach of the year.  And sometimes people have to fail before they succeed.  Marv, Belichick, Andy Reid, whatever.  It’s more common in life than the Sean McVay route, in my view.

I think Dabol is the same as Wade Phillips, great coordinator, but noy meant to be HC

I don’t want Daboll to be our HC.  I want him back as our OC

Maybe.  You could well be right.  But are we winning a Super Bowl with this group?  I don’t think so.  The last month of trash and malaise tells me it’s time to think about what’s next.

Ben Johnson and whatever GM he picked would've been the perfect scenario.  But that ship has sailed.  By the time Terry realizes what a clown show McB are, it will be too late.

Daboll is not HC material but he is definitely a top 10 OC

It's kind of add that the Giants would fire him for blowing a lead & losing a game in which he lost his QB and was already without his top WR & RB. The Giants were on the upswing & looked like a legit spoiler team before the Skattebo injury.

 

This is a pretty good destination for the next coach if he can fix the OL.

I think he is a smart guy, but a huge blowhard. The more influence he gets the worse he becomes at his job. Good dude to have in the room, but it ends there.

totals in 4 of the 16 games under Daboll his last year.  They threw a lot which will make people happy but it is revisionists history if you think there were not real challenges with daboll too

Belichick and Reid’s failings were absolutely nowhere near the level of failure that Daboll has accomplished lol it’s kinda crazy even mentioning him in that context. 

 

It’s surreal right now living in giants fans land haha feels like they’re organizing a parade to celebrate the guy finally being gone and our fans are tripping over themselves racing to make him head coach 😂 he’s honestly terrible

Daboll absolutely had to be fired given the Daniel Jones situation. It doesn't really matter which game he was fired after. Jones isn't a world beater, but he got next to nothing out of him. If I am in the C-Suite with the NYG I look at Indy and think "we absolutely, 100% need to get new people to manage our QB's. He botched it."
