that's crazy. one day you're recovering a punt for a TD on national tv, 4 days later you're gone. Terrible

It's not right.

That's life, but that doesn't make it right.  24 years old.

Awful.

I hate to speculate, but I will.

In absence of a police report / accident report, etc. perhaps this was some sort of congenital health issue / defect.  You hear about athletes at all levels, dying suddenly from previously unknown health issues.

Very sad.  Prayers to his family and friends, whatever the circumstances are.

Deaths of 24 yo due to unrecognized congenital defects are really uncommon.

most common causes of death in 24 yo males are

suicide

homocide

drug OD

MVA

People are saying if it was murder or a vehicular accident, police reports would be out there. A wellness check was ordered at his apartment last night but Kneeland wasn’t home. Take from that what you will.

"Per a release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, Kneeland was involved in a traffic stop following a moving violation in Frisco, Texas Wednesday night. A chase pursued and police lost sight of the vehicle. The car was later found after a crash. Kneeland was dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound."

I don't want to speculate but I will, an autopsy would show CTE.

His family has made a statement that he has had a history of mental illness.  His girlfriend said he was heavily armed.

seems those two things should not go together nor ever be allowed.

This takes a tragic situation and makes it even more sad.

RIP and may his loved one find peace.

Feel bad for his family, who apparently called the police to alert them that he was having a mental episode before the attempt was made to pull him over. The combination of fear and total helplessness in a moment like that must be awful.
