It is so hard in those situations if you can't threaten deep or outside. Because the opposition will let you have the short passes in the middle knowing that the chances are time runs out on you or rushes you into a mistake. Of course there is a chance we can find a deep seam to Kincaid or Shakir can catch a short one and make magic but you are kind of limited to one of those things happening and if they don't you're toast. One more matchup advantage (to acquire or to emerge) on offense would get it done though. As horrible as it is to even utter, I realized the other day that even Steph Diggs right now would probably put this offense over the top. 1 Quote

I agree. 2 minute drives require WRs who can separate quickly, and quickly get out of bounds to stop the clock. Keon is definitely not that. Beane has 8 hours to fix this mess at WR Quote

I said it before we played the Pats and I stand by it - Stef would still be this team's best receiver as long as his head was right. 2 Quote
frostbitmic Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago 2:00 minutes to go and Josh with the ball = cape on and we're scoring a TD unless we get hit up with phantom penalties after every gain (wink wink nudge nudge) otherwise I have no doubt Josh puts 7 on the board. Biggest problem I see is scoring too quickly and putting the McDefense on the field with any more than :12 on the clock. Sorry not sorry but I could see the same thing happening again. Quote
Ray Stonada Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Josh can get this done calling the plays in no huddle Get into 11 personnel with Josh, Cook, Kincaid, Shakir, Moore and Palmer Shakir and Kincaid intermediate Moore and Palmer deep posts and crossers Let Cook chip block and then go out for passes Quote

I think we're winning by more than seven And yeah I never doubt Josh if we are down with 2 minutes left even if he doesn't get it done 100% of the time.. he's going to get it done more than any quarterback alive Speaking of the Chiefs and seeing them in the playoffs, it seems that because we've met them so frequently in that position, there's a lot of chatter about 'when' we meet them in January - as if it's assumed and part of the regularly scheduled programming. Not so fast. With consideration to the competition we're both facing in our respective divisions, I'm not so sure we'll be seeing them again this season. Unless the Chiefs get it together and win their matchups with the Broncos and Chargers, they could end up as a 6th or 7th seed or out of the playoffs altogether. With 4 losses after only 9 games, their days of having a week off to rest and then home field advantage may be over. By the same token, the Bills need to put their sloppy play with the Patriots and Falcons behind them, and then take care of business when they go to New England. Following the past 2 wins, this fickle fan is a bit more optimistic than I was after that Monday night debacle. 😊 As things now stand, they have a better chance than the Chiefs of hosting home games or even enjoying the bye. Either way, there will be plenty of obstacles with our other AFC contenders that the odds of seeing the Chiefs again are considerably less than in past seasons. Quote

If they want any shot at the division then sweeping the Broncos and winning the rematch against the Chargers who they lost to in week 1 is a must. IMHO they are playing for a WC as I think Denver will win that division. We will see how it plays out. That Broncos - Chiefs game in 2 weeks will be a fun one to watch. 1 Quote

Agree, and to make the playoffs I think they likely have to win 2 from Broncs x2, Chargers, Texans. I don't think 7 losses with 6 in Conference will get it done. 1 Quote

ChronicAndKnuckles Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago 14 hours ago, Mikie2times said: As we try to triangulate what this team can actually do in the postseason, I keep coming back to one thing, how do we execute a game winning drive in the postseason? Historically, Allen has been among the best quarterbacks in football when it comes to high leverage, clutch drives. Yet we’ve now been in this exact same position back to back years and failed to deliver. I’m not revisiting those games to assign blame, that topic has been dissected to nauseating levels, but rather to ask with how this offense is constructed today, how do we see a two minute drill against a playoff caliber defense playing out? We’re heavily reliant on methodically moving the ball, spamming Cook, spamming Shakir, spamming screens. Playing bigger sets, throwing to our TE's. We don’t really have an offense that can operate efficiently in long yardage from my view. It would seem to me that we will need to revert to Allen putting the cape on, but maybe others feel different. So if we’re down four with two minutes left and the season on the line, do you think we score? What does that drive even look like when you strip away what gives this offense consistency, with Cook likely off the field, short passing limited, and defenses forcing us to win on the perimeter? I think this team has enough talent to execute a flawless & balanced approach w/ 2 minutes and 3 timeouts. Will Allen have to put on the cape ? No, but he will have to make the proper & accurate throws when they present themselves. With the way the offense is constructed now, it’s not going to be a back & forth fiasco like the divisional game a few years back. I expect the Bills to methodically pound the rock, short throws with big YAC, and Allen will have to be dialed in when in the red zone to make the TD throw/run. Unlike the past, there will be no time on the clock for the Chiefs to pull of any miracles. That’s the biggest benefit to this offense. Controlling the clock. That’s huge when the Bills/Chiefs rivalry typically comes down to who has the last possession. Quote
