Solomon has been playing in that spot all year while Hoecht was suspended and went back in after Hoecht was injured.

They have been using this all year with Solomon.

Hmmm... how did I completely miss that. The only times I've noticed Solomon, he was ineffectually playing on the edge.

Thank you.

Thanks. Not sure how we're getting there. I'll find out tonight when I land. I think my buddy is driving. He and his brother have been to the stadium before so I'm sure they have a game plan

This would be a really good matchup for Palmer if he plays. The Dolphins have largely a bunch of arse at CB. Could be a great chance to get him rolling.

I would love to see Davis, Johnson, Hawes and Moore lead this team to a resounding victory.

This is why it's ridiculous to talk about who plays and who doesn't on a Tuesday. Now that we have more solid info, I would say:

  • Start Benford and play him as little as possible/pull him as soon as possible.
  • Hold Taron out to let him recover more/see how Lewis does.
  • Hold out DaQuan and Palmer and trust that we can win without them. They're more important down the road than they are this weekend... assuming a win.

Unfortunately, as I will say every time someone brings this nonsense up, trap games DO NOT EXIST.  Statistically disproven every single way you could ever disprove something statistically.

I don't disagree with you but isn't it someone else here who carries the "there's no such a thing as a trap game" torch?

Agreed though I'd like to see them play as few snaps as possible.

I just want to say, I love you guys and the best thing about this message board, is that we can have disagreements and a variety of opinions, but at the end of the day, we all love our Bills and this is such a great community of posters here (can anyone say run on sentence??).  By far the most informative NFL message board AND the most respectful that I've ever come across.  Glad to be a part of something special here and look forward to one day celebrating a Super Bowl victory right here with all each and every one of you.

That said, SQUISH THE FISH!!!!!

The feeling's mutual and I'm sorry to the many people here that I've offended. It's our passion for the team that causes us to behave poorly at times.

I carry that torch as well and have posted the studies showing they don't exist...probably could find them, it was a while back.

For me he can play the Mack Hollins role, better than Hollins did.

I don't know, it might take him a while to get accustomed to walking around outside this time of year with bare feet.

Have a funny feeling the Patriots could start coming back to earth this weekend.

If they lose in Tampa and we take care of the Phins, they're back in second place where they belong, and that could mess with their confidence.

LOL, that would be me.  The “trap game” talk always cracks me up.  It’s relevant in high school and college sports…not so much the pros.  It’s just one of my pet peeves in broadcasting and the way people talk about games.

Fans get caught up in overlooking opponents or betting with their hearts.  Professional players don’t.  NFL players and coaches understand that the margin between winning, losing, or getting your asses blown out is razor thin.  If they don’t give it their all they are toast.

Gabe runs 3 routes well - Go, Post, Corner. We killed him for it as a WR2 but since we didn’t do a trade, he’s the answer for Keon’s uncanny ability to stay plastered to the DB when he runs his routes.

It will be the Amari Cooper effect. No team respects Keon at the X one on one. Teams will respect Gabe because he’s proven he can get open on those routes. Teams currently are rarely if ever keeping a safety deep when they cover Keon one on one because they don’t fear Keon. That safety is dropping into the middle of the field, making it more difficult for Josh who is not the greatest anticipatory thrower so he needs to see those windows.

I had zero interest in keeping Gabe at the Jax numbers and a WR2. I really think he can help open up the middle of the field for Josh an make this offense even more efficient because Keon has so far been completely inneffective.

One thing that stands out about the injury report, is who isn't on it. None of the TEs are on it. Reggie isn't on it. Cook says he's good to go. None of the OLmen are on it. This is going to be a game where the OL, TEs, Reggie and James set the tone. The Bills are running 12, 13, and 22 personnel a lot. Going to be a lot of running, but there will be some passes too. Defenses are getting caught with their pants down when the Bills pass, for instance, out of 13 personnel. You have 3 TEs on the field it seems obvious that it's going to be a run. The Bills are passing out of that and making big plays down the field! Now defenses can't decide presnap whether it's run or pass. By the time they figure it out, it's often too late. And with our OL, even if they do figure it out, they still can't stop it. The Bills are probably the best team in the league at OL blocking.

Only thing about this game that worries me is how well the defense performs. That's where the vast majority of the injuries are. However, I'm really encouraged by the speed we now have on the back end. Those guys are making plays back there.

At the NFL level a "trap" game

Should be called knowingly taking your opponent lightly game lol which as you said doesn't have good results at the highest level

Every time we play the dolphins, Bills fans act like we are playing a division 2 college. All week on here it’s going to be a blowout, then everyone is aggravated when we are a play away from being down in the second half. No matter how bad it looks, it’s a division game against teams that knows us very well. It won’t be as simple as show up and you win. The bills need every one of these games to keep pace and they need to take the dolphins seriously. The dolphins also have nothing to lose so they can try things outside the box. We got to stay disciplined and keep playing good defense. Get cook going early and play physical. There’s no reason to not expect a Bills win but it’s going to be a game. Not a stunting showcase

Ethan Bonner, Jack Jones, Jason Marshall Jr, Juju Brents is the likely dolphin secondary bills will see. If ever there is a week for Coleman, Moore, Samuel to show something in the offense, this has to be it.

I'd love to see a return to rookie Gabe: Mr. Toe Drag Swag.  He was great at those out routes.

I assume you see some of Cover1's videos?  Two Solomon videos stood out to me this week, one was a pressure on Mahomes, the other was dropping in coverage in which he did a great job. He's a second year R5 pick who is getting better and better.
found the coverage video—looks dam good.

Gabe was a legit deep threat for the Bills last time around. Not sure he's still capable of doing that now. He was better than Hollins minus the special team ability. I forgot who - one of the ESPN analyst - said the Bills have the same issue last year where Keon was not ready, Cooper just so-so, and Hollins kind of stepped up later in the season in that deep ball role, at least gave us some semblance of that. This year we have none as Keon has not really making the steps they hoped so far.
