He had a direct path to the endzone up the middle of the field but then he veered to the right.  It looked strange.  

It looked to me like he was trying to maximize separation and real estate so he could slow down and do his flip thing

That had crossed my mind.  I remember a few years ago he took a shot against the Packers that people suspected was concussion causing...and did not seem right for a few games after.  However, I would think that, since it wasn't severe enough that he got pulled from the came, that if that were the case, he'd be better by now...but who knows.

The issue with Ray Davis 2025 is that he offers nothing special. He has no vision, no burst, does not run downhill, does not push the pile, etc..  I’d absolutely give Gore Jr a shot to have some meaningful carries.  McBeane is being stubborn about this. I guess Ray must be a prolific blocker to warrant staying the backup RB

I agree with you. Davis has been abysmal all year. It's Gore time. I've said this for weeks 

 

However, with all our injuries it's hard to call him up since we have had to call up DTs and Safety help week in and week out.

In a nutshell I think a bunch of things are at work simultaneously. Minimally:

 

1) The Bills lack the kind of premier receiving target which makes an offense's job so much easier.

2) To be proficient at something requires repetition. The Bills simply don't pass enough anymore to be good at it. I almost feel like the players should be scheduling extra sessions to address their lack of cohesiveness.

3) Josh has been so ingrained with not turning the ball over that he's become tentative and unsure. His decision making has worsened and he sometimes forces it when he should check down and sometimes checks down when he should pull the trigger.

4) Brady's not good at designing an offense which schemes players open.

Before the Patriots game, Collinsworth and Tirico spoke with the Bills coaching staff who made it clear that 1) Palmer was faster than they first thought and 2) Palmer was a big part of the game plan.

 

Palmer had two big catches early on and then was injured... all in the 1st quarter I believe.

 

That game was supposed to be his coming out party.

Between his questionable injury status this week and the way the game played out it was absolutely a combination of factors which limited his snap count.

It's ridiculous that Rapp and Bernard played as many snaps this year as they have. As others have characterized it, addition by subtraction.

 

I would be fine if neither of them start another game for the Bills... ever.

Seeing the defense show signs of life was great. The addition of Hoecht, Ogunjobi, Hairston, Hancock and Poyer paid off big time. Poyer is a steadying influence out there and I loved the platooning with Hancock who saved a TD and that series ended up in a Carolina TO.

 

McD is calling the defense. Babich has been demoted. He will talk about it being a collaboration but McD has taken over. Good for now. We will see if Bobby can get it back over time

 

The linebackers looked better without Bernard out there. Hopefully he gets his mojo back. Williams made some solid plays after looking like ass, and Shaq Thompson is our best LB right now.

 

I’m so sick of our main guys being injured all the time. Glass Oliver joins Glass Milano, and Glass Bernard as being highly paid players who can’t stay on the field. He popped that bicep tendon. He’s done for the year, might be able to make it back deep in the playoffs. Just ridiculous.

 

Allen is off but that’s ok for now. We’ve gotta be able to win games when Josh doesn’t have an MVP game. I’m not concerned yet, I think he’s going to get his head back on straight. But I don’t like seeing him make crap decisions and missing wide open guys when they actually separate. IDK the reason but he’s carried this team enough over the years that they can carry him while he gets back to form.

 

We need to trade for a WR and a DT immediately. I’d say Shaheed and Harrison Philips are reasonable targets that are doable. I’d love Olave but he’s not coming. Our WR group is not good enough to get it done when the playoffs come.

Ty Johnson has had a lot of disappearing acts this year as well. The run game is all Cook and the O line.

You never know what the recovery curve is in any given instance..

Without the all-22 and a full clip, if my memory serves me correctly, this was the 3rd and 6 that had Curtis Samuel run a 4 yard whip route. Cool. I think Shakir ended up almost making a toe tip catch on the scramble by Allen but was OOB. 
 

There is no threat down the field and those deep players are just camping right at the line to gain. It is the perfect storm of inability to scheme guys open and the lack of talent to have a guy win 1v1 on the boundary.  
 

If this was a snap shot from 2022, Allen is 100% going to the bottom of the screen vs this look taking the match up. We saw it a million times with Diggs. He never looks that way and just plays the concept up top which seems outmatched from the snap.

I don't know, but he made a lot of bad decisions. Like look at this play at 2:33 in the video. That's absolutely terrible. Even after he sees FOUR guys closing in on him with nowhere to go, he cuts back inside to take a huge sack!

 

Why wouldn't you throw it away? These are mistakes he made in his first 2 years, now popping back up again. 

 

3rd & 6 at the opposing 14 yard line. Ran so far back that he was sacked past the 30 yard line.

Lord knows I don't want Josh hurt, but on some scrambles I wish he would just take the five yards and slide rather than expose himself to those hits while he is throwing off balance.

In the game I missed it. The end of half field goal attempt. How much time was left? Bills players celebrating the sack almost cost them. It looked like 12 men on the field when I counted for the bills.

 

It was pure chaos.

I don’t disagree that Davis has been very underwhelming.  If Gore were activated from the PS to take Davis’ roster spot, we’d have to waive Davis then, correct?
