Well, the news of the day is obviously the gambling scandal rocking the NBA. I’m sure that we will see more and more of this as we move forward but this one is obviously HUGE.

I just saw that Billups arrest is tied to a poker operation run by the mob. It’s bad when “poker operation run by the mafia” is a better outcome than “HOF player, now coach, arrested for gambling scandal tied to NBA games.” Imagine how much he could impact props?!? Lol, that just feels too convienent. I may have been born in the morning but it’s not this morning.

Time is a flat circle. I guess we have to re-learn the whole "gambling is bad" thing.

It infects everything.

I am this close to not watching football anymore. The league is in bed with Vegas. Didn't watch anything last weekend when Bills were on the bye. It's only a step above wrestling at this point.

That's unpossible!!!  There's so many professional leagues backing it in so many ways.

I can't believe that there are people who don't believe things like this aren't happening in the NFL. Refs, Vegas, Owners, who knows. I'm just not going to be surprised that one day someone will follow the money and we'll have some answers to all the questions and doubts we've had about officiating and unexplainable play calling. The doubt and questioning by many already has had and affect on me and how I view the game.

I still think Super Bowl 25 was setup.

About the officiating in the NFL, are we about to hear that Roger Goodell just fled the country...

I’d be willing to pitch in for a one way flight to Qatar in the summer. That would just be me trying to get him acclimated to his future environment. I’m helpful like that.

What are the odds on this taking place in the NFL ?  😉

What is the difference between Tyler Bass and Matt Prater?

Football feels a lot easier to affect the outcome of than most other sports.

You get a lot more possessions/chances in basketball. A crooked football ref at any level could call holding at a key moment and totally derail a drive. It doesn't even need to be a big moment. A holding call that kills a promising 1st quarter drive could be a major factor later in a close game.

You only get so many possessions in football. A drive killing penalty here or there totally changes the game.

And you can call holding almost every play. It's so subjective. Same with pass interference.

The effect of any 1 call in football is so much more impactful than almost any other sport. A theoretical crooked football ref (at any level) who stops 7 points from being scored by Team A in a sport where 23-17 is a typical score output , is lowering Team A's point total by as much as 25-30%.

That's like a basketball ref directly stopping a basketball team from scoring 20-30 points.

The mafia paid the helicopter to fly in that direction causing a drift of the ball
