Thats the NFL for you.. never can predict exactly how things will play out. Each season is really its own story, and predictions based on last year are far from guaranteed. Allen repeating as league MVP doesn’t look promising, and the Bills offense as expected has regressed. As expected the main issue is likely the defense. Their performance is likely key to a turnaround or a downfall in 2025.

I think for this game the five core skill position players will be Hawes as TE 1, Anderson as TE2, Shakir, Coleman/Samuel and Cook. The 6 OL package returns. 

 

With all the cage rushes and blitzers coming we need to keep Allen upright and utilise Cook and Davis to run with a maximum of 4 guys actually running routes.

If not for the Hochuli ref crew and Rousseau being Offside, we're likely undefeated and not worried about tomorrow at all.

 

I think the team comes out tomorrow and reminds us that they're still kings of the division and a legit SB contender.

Is this the week they turn it all around? Getting suspended players back as well as injured ones. Hope Brady took the extra time to revamp his playbook.  Here's to hoping! Go Bills!

By my count they’re still at 52 players on the active roster. They’ve elevated Phillips and Poyer from PS so doubt they’re going to sign a S or DT to active roster but idk what theyre doing hanging out with an extra roster spot….

I'm struggling to find good vibes about the rest of this season. I can abide a lot but a bad defense is not one of those things. Our defense stinks on ice and I don't see how it improves. Without massive massive improvement this entire season is a waste because they won't win anything playing this sort of defense. Playoffs maybe, hooray. Nothing important.

Dude anything can happen with Allen at QB.  The defense has collapsed every year, and Allen almost overcame it. Kincaid dropped a pass. Bass missed a FG.  Its not just the defense. Allen has these slumps every year and he is the best playoff QB of all time. 

Just get in the show. Stop worrying about top seed. Colts are getting that and I would love to face Daniel Jones in AFC Championship game though Colts probably lose in the Divisional round.

And they have come up short every year. Having Josh Allen isn't a plan and frankly he looks disengaged and disinterested most of the time this year which is concerning. He's also starting to look older and a quarter step slower.

Just wondering-were you saying this a couple of weeks ago? If not, what changed? 
 

I ask because nothing has changed besides a couple of losses. In fact the team is now better because of the defensive replacements

I agree. But nothing we can do about it now. Hopefully Beane gets a WR. 

If they fail again, nothing is going to happen. We can post all the fire Beane/McDermott posts we want but it wont matter.

It's become clear just how bad the defense is. It was bad when healthy and has only become worse after injuries. There isn't a path to improvement at safety which was a major red flag going into the season, was essentially unaddressed, and it's going to continue to be a major issue. The run defense is indescribably terrible despite massive investment into said defense in the off-season. The pass defense is making zero plays and often looks unprepared and out of position. Every other team seems to be able to cause chaos with blitzes. Ours are easily seen, picked up, and exploited most of the time.

 

The offense, on the other hand, is either intentionally playing with one hand behind its back to manage load and keep things off tape or is run by a person who is hell bent on doing things for the sake of doing them (handing off to TEs/playing Elijah Moore at all/not having Cook on the field for any 3rd downs/force feeding Coleman/no 6 OL run sets, etc) or intentionally does not put his best players on the field or put them into the best positions to succeed.

 

Essentially all of the things I was worried about coming into the year are showing themselves to be major problems and there are no solutions at this point in the year. They just need to deal with it. They'll probably make the playoffs but they won't beat anyone they need to beat in January. You mentioned the Colts. You don't think that Jonathan Taylor would run for like 200 yards and 4 TDs on this defense? They'd get worked by the Chiefs again. Hell, right now they can't beat New England reliably.

We're literally getting 3 new additions to the defense tomorrow - and I'm going to guess another by the trade deadline.

 

They've looked bad, but they've also been pretty banged up.  We don't need them to be a top 5 or top 10 D.  We need them to be top 15, and I think that's a possibility if Hairston can shine as a rookie and Hoecht is the guy I think he'll be.
