No wr talent so let’s tell the defense pre snap that we are passing and let them get in an ideal pass shell I don't understand what changed from last season. We had the same bottom feeder WRs and yet performed in an acceptable manner on O. This year, every game has looked like a slog. One Mack Hollins couldn't be the reason for such a decline. Head scratcher to me. Quote

Where the Bills had just got their butt kicked by Baltimore 35-10 and then lost to Houston and Allen was 9-30 passing or whatever it was. People complaining about the exact same thing at that time as they are now. Nobody is getting open. Joe Brady sucks. Some people blaming Allen, some blaming Brady, some blaming Beane or McDermott. Exact same scenarios. Bills went out and got Cooper after that and the offense opened up. Just from his presence on the field. I do think it looked like the Bills wanted to go downfield more last night to Palmer but then he got hurt and after that, with no Kincaid as well, the Bills offense looked bad. Before Palmer got hurt though they were moving the ball and Palmer had just got a first down for about 10 yards on that throw he was injured. Not sure if they need to go get someone else now or if Palmer and Kincaid will be well enough to play. Guess my point is that this all is the exact same thing that happened last year at this exact time then the Bills went on a run and got to the AFC championship game. Have to have guys available to play though. If the Bills keep having so many injuries on both sides of the ball it won’t matter what Beane or McDermott or Brady does because they can’t fill every hole if everyone keeps getting hurt. Problem is Bills always seem to have massive injuries on usually the defensive side of the ball at playoff time. Bills have looked a little off all year though. Maybe some year we should get ahead of the curve, and acquire a speedy WR before the trade deadline, like, maybe in the offseason or something. Quote

After Brady, Beane is comfortable running with Coleman and Palmer. There is no doubt in my mind that they are running with Brady’s “everybody eats” mentality. They stopped prioritizing WR after they got Diggs while Daboll was still here. Yes they brought in an old Emmanuel sanders but with Dorsey they tried to make Gabe the No 2. They haven’t really brought in anyone since. Beane has been doing the same thing they did in Carolina. Expect Allen to carry the offense with a bunch of JAGs. Quote
oldmanfan Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago If your WRs are having trouble getting separation, and teams are rushing more guys knowing they have the WRs covered, then you have to change your calls. We need to call more slants -Coleman can actually run those. Call some screens and draws. Get the ball out to your RBs especially Cook. How Cook is not on the field in crunch time is mystifying. 1 Quote

Well yeah, after he brought in a top 5 overall WR and a top 5 slot receiver, and a speedy veteran, along with drafted Gabe Davis … he didn’t really need to do anything else in Daboll’s last year at WR. The WR room looked good. Thats completely different than how it looks now. There is really no comparison. 1 Quote

Maybe but I think if Palmer doesn’t get hurt and Kincaid plays the Bills would have moved the ball a lot better and won last night. Brady has been calling bad games though. His jet sweeps to tight ends and the one last night on a 4th and 1 were both back breakers in both games the last 2 weeks. Quote
Best Williams Available Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago 27 minutes ago, Roundybout said: No but this is still a damnable offense The offense only looked like itself in that first half of the 3rd quarter when they rode Cook. Cook is their best player outside of Allen by a wide margin. The minute they went away from Cook in the 2nd half the offense stalled again. On WGR they just said Cook didn’t touch the ball on the last 3 possessions!!!!! This is all Brady’s fault and it’s criminal. Allen having to work that hard for a <200 yard passing yard performance is on Beane and Brady. I don’t understand how he can’t find plays to slow down a blitzing D. Allen was superb at this in years past. Quote

Davis had issues to show he’s not a No. 2 but had a big game in playoffs so they didn’t upgrade the next year. Beane has needed to add receivers for a few years now and that was before Brady. You kind of have to replace players when they regress or leave. Edited 7 hours ago by Not at the table Karlos 1 Quote
RyanC883 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago (edited) Issues are Bean believing we did not need more talent then getting defensive about it, Brady’s “cute” short to go play-calling, Brady’s pass telegraphing, and McD’s defenses giving up a ton of yards, points and time of possession, making the offensive need to score every drive. LabattBlue Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago (edited) I know the critics would say “it takes away half the field”, but damn, take advantage of Josh’s legs and put in some designed rollouts. The Bills are wasting Josh’s prime years while Brady is going through on the job training. Edited 6 hours ago by LabattBlue Quote

Brandon Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I suspect that he isn't, but it's difficult to make a fair assessment when there's a glaring talent deficiency in the passing game. Some of his play calling has been questionable at best, but how much of that just flailing to find something...anything...that will work? Quote
BuffaloRebound Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago 1. Brady’s play-calling 1a. Coleman 2. Drop-off from Cook to the back-up RB’s is a canyon. Quote

With that being said, no, he isn’t “the biggest issue.” That is the lack of wide receivers. You can’t run an offense if guys can’t get open. Teams are currently sending rushers and leaving the CBs to blanket the trash he has to work with. The Bills are WAY too easy to defend and it’s not because of scheme. His hands are tied behind his back with the pass catchers he has to work with. Perfectly stated Quote
JustHewIt Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Trying not to overreact, but man, Cook being out the entire 4th quarter was pretty damning. It was a one score game, we didnt have to throw at all. And for all the talk about Cook's poor blocking being the reason he sits, we still couldn't block or pick up a blitz at all with him on the sideline. I'm glad it wasn't another "oops we shot ourselves in the foot!" loss. That beatdown will force some hard conversations. How we come out of the bye will be very telling. Quote
ALF Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I would try giving Allen more protection and help Cook with a real 6th OL man to be a blocking TE , just a thought. Quote
