I live in NJ and the pizza in both NJ and the NYC area is very good IMHO. I can't comment on Buffalo, Chicago, or Detroit so NYC is my only choice for this poll.

I like the greasy NYC style, but also like the Buffalo style with sweeter sauce and cup charred pepperoni. I’m not a fan of thick dough or fire roasted crunchy pizza.

I had Buffalo style today for lunch (the owner is from Grand Island) and it was pretty good. There are some decent places with more NY style around, I guess. Not a huge preference in style, I think the quality of the joint matters more.

The one that stands out as a different food to me is Chicago deep dish. We used to go out to a place after Monday night tennis to drink beer,  watch MNF and have free pizza at halftime. They put out amazing deep dish pizza, and not just because it was free. They sold by the slice and I’d go there for lunch. They sold and eventually went out of business but those were great times. Thinking of that, I took my Mom to a place here that sells deep dish. It’s not until you sit down do you learn it takes 45-50 minutes. No thanks.

NYC for me, as someone who has had every kind listed aside from Detroit, it's NYC hands down. Reality is, this is a personal preference poll, so no matter which you choose, no one is right and no one is wrong. You like what you like.

I like them all. Of the main styles, I actually like NYC the least. It's too thin. The most important part of a pizza is the dough, and the dough in NYC is too thin. You have to fold it in half to even eat it. I like WNY pizza a lot, especially Bocce Club and Picasso's. I also really like Chicago Tavern-style pizza with the cornmeal crust. I like a place called Barnaby's in Northbrook. I know it's not Pizza, but I like the "tomato pies" from Philly.  Again, because they are sold in Italian bakeries, the dough is the star of the show. But the best pizza in the world is not served in slices. It's authentic Neopolitan pizza baked in a coal-fired oven with prosciutto.  Each person gets their own pizza, and it's eaten with a fork and knife. This is where it all comes from, and it hasn't been surpassed.

But the worst pizza is that crap from St. Louis with Provel cheese.

Chicago thin crust.  Deep dish is only like 50 years old.

Also called "tavern style" for the way it's cut... The original Chicago pizza.

Better than greasy New York.

Cracker crust... BUT I still voted for doughy BFLo.

It isn't bad.  I'd rank top 3 FastFood pizza as:

1. Domino's

2. PizzaSlut

3. LittleSqueezer's

I love Chicago - but it's a casserole, not pizza.

NYC.

That's only the more recent deep dish.  Original Chicago pizza is thin crust.

I've never had the Chicago tavern style before but it looks interesting

Have had some deep dish pizzas in Chicago and I did really like it. Just different but I could see why it has it's detractors

Of all of the "fast food" pizza joints they are easily the best one.

This thread is about pizza not board games. And for the record there are much better board games than Dominos too.

When it comes to deep dish, I like Beggars, Lou Malnati's, & Edwardo's "stuffed."

Beggars:

Lou Malnati's:

Edwardo's Natural:

Beggars makes a good tavern style thin:

Official WhiteSox pizza... Beggars uses corn meal under the crust...

Chicago deep dish pizza is fantastic. Lou Malnati's is the best.

totally agree on both accounts.

by the way, I have perfected making Lou Malnati style deep dish at home. It was easier than I thought.
