Then there's the cost/compensation which would be high. We need a Safety because Rapp has been 💩. I'd be looking into Justin Simmons if I were Beane. Not a fit for our offense? He would actually fix the one glaring problem that we have. 1 2 Quote

Brown is still in his prime. We’d see how quickly that everybody eats stuff would wash away if they ever had an alpha WR again. It’s very funny to me that the prevailing theory is that if the Eagles called us up and offered us Brown and Smith for Coleman and Palmer, we would say yes but run the exact same offense and give them 4 targets each per game. 1 1 Quote

RunTheBall Posted Monday at 11:50 PM Posted Monday at 11:50 PM You guys are right. It was 18 and 101. For some reason I thought it was a second. I’d still give up a 2nd for him but since there is no chance of that happening its easy to say. Quote

Apparently he's not too happy with the direction of the offense at this time and has posted some cryptic tweet/tweets about it. The Eagles could trade him now without too much concern cap-wise. He's 28 and probably has 3 good years in him at least. What say you TBD? First, do you think he would put us over the top if he does become available? And then, what would you be willing to part with for him? Whatever it takes TBH. All things in a vacuum, would Howie even consider moving him to a (cross conference) contender? This is why those of us in the WR camp find the lack of investment at the position so frustrating! Its nearly impossible to get one when you are a contender and especially without a rookie QB deal. WRs have had an uptrend in last 5+ years in being immediately productive, but its not a given. So realistically you have 2 identify one, spend decent draft capital, and develop for a year or two. "31 POINTS! 31 POINTS!!!" Don't want to hear it. We're laboring to move the ball if you watch amd aren't just hawking the box score. Josh will get us the most out of our investment at WR. Its delusional to think we aren't going to struggle on 3rd downs when we run into the Spagnolas/Fangios of the NFL! Do we need to be better on D? Yes! Have we shown to be capable of improving with even heavy resources sunk into it? No. Their is no requirement to win the SB with a top 10 defense *AND* offense. Stop doing what doesn't work, and give Josh some f'ing help. We need to stretch the field laterally and lengthwise. I feel like we could trade defenses I've rosters with Philly and somehow still not be able to use it, or develop it. If were going to use Josh to overcome our coaching and talent deficiencies (at positions), then there are no half measures 1 Quote

He doesn't seem like a guy who would fit will in this everybody eats framework. But McDermott doesn't make vets earn it. Rookies, yes. Vets, no, if they can memorize the plays quickly enough. 1 Quote

And why would he want to go to a team where he may have a stat line of 2 catches 27 yards in a win and want him to be ok with it? The titans got a 1st for him... Because his quarterback is a running back lol I like the everybody eats thing, but its not a disqualifier from having a boundary receiver who can get you a play when you absolutely have to have it. Our WRs are a joke at this point. Just bite the bullet. How many times do we need to hand out garbage *** half-measure contracts to guys who are other teams cast offs. Josh is a force multiplier, its a felony to not use it 1 1 Quote

And then, what would you be willing to part with for him? I highly doubt that the "rumblings" have any legs to it. The undefeated, defending Super Bowl Champions aren't going to trade their best WR - regardless of whether or not he wishes he was getting the ball more. They just signed him to a 3 year, 96m extension just last year. Brown isn't going to force their hand either. But let's say they did - they wouldn't move him to the team that is almost unanimously considered to be their Super Bowl opponent, at this point. And let's say they wanted to trade him and they'd consider us - do you really think they're picking up that contract? Especially when it's apparent that they believe Josh's success predicates on the kind of Offense where there is no focal point? Like all other huge trade possibilities, it's fun fantasy talk. But the odds of it actually happening? I put it somewhere between 0 and 1% Edited Tuesday at 02:16 AM by BillsFanForever19 1 Quote
