Makes zero financial sense to cut him, so they wont. Yeah I agree someone asked me yesterday if they thought we should trade him... I just dont see a team giving up anything for a guy who was a scratch the first 3 games and really hasnt be a factor except for a flash or two... I am not even sure if it would cost us cap money this year... I think they cut bait this offseason with him, but I do not see anything but role player, healthy scratch, or injured scratch for him this year... Quote

But ultimately I think it comes down to this. If we lose Coleman and Shakir, Samuels can step in and provide some value and the offense can still move the ball, somewhat. If we lose Tre and Benford, Codrington stepping in would be disasterous. You don't hold roster spots for disasters because they are a "fine" returner. Bonus point: I spent a lot of time watching Tre in coverage yesterday, I thought he was excellent overall. (Although one big missed tackle in the run game comes to mind) 3 Quote

JustHewIt Posted September 29 Posted September 29 My thought is on Bobby Babich. Is it time to get concerned? When Frazier and Mcdermott ran the D, we had injuries, we played backups, but we always finished top ten in most categories. Since Babich has taken over it feels like a slow decline into total mediocrity and lack of identity, not unlike that second year with Dorsey when eventually the offense just hit a wall and was done. I remember at times when Frazier would struggle, McD would step in and help get the ship righted. Will that happen here and how much leash is left for Babich at this point? Or was our past success really just having an incredible secondary in their prime? 2 Quote

He is not hitting like last year. He’s taken bad angles and missed many tackles. Last year Rapp was probably our best tackler. Not this year Quote
Roundybout Posted September 29 Posted September 29 No Walker on the field. Phillips gets taken out of the play immediately and Sanders (?) way overshoots, so Rattler has a hole you could drive a semitrailer though Quote

Walker has earned more snaps and is moving around more now tho. He hasn't. Per PFF 70 snaps over the B gap and 14 over the A gap. Quote

No_Matter_What Posted September 29 Posted September 29 (edited) My random thought is that after watching little bit of All22 again that even though Josh is fantastic he is also a human and makes simple mistakes sometimes. In our 4th drive (3rd one was the INT) on 3rd down he scrambled to the right and had wide open Ty Johnson right in front of him and from no reason at all he chose much harder throw to Samuel 20 yards further who slipped and we punted. OL was really much worse than before fwiw. Van Demark in the first place, but Torrence was also beat to his inside shoulder at least once. EDIT: Forgot to add that I saw 3 plays when Kincaid was open downfield but Josh didn't have time in the pocket to find him. One more second and big plays are there. So Epenesa, Jordan Philips, Sanders, and Solomon were the D-Line on that play. Taron Johnson, Bernard, and Williams are the linebackers. Sanders took the bait (fake handoff) too much and left a big gap in the middle. Quote

No_Matter_What Posted September 29 Posted September 29 6 hours ago, BuffaloBillyG said: This is my biggest head scratcher this season. What happened to Ray Davis? He looked very promising last year and through the first 4 games this year (and even back in preseason) he's show Karlos Williams levels of regression. To be fair to Davis IIRC he also looked pedestrian last season with limited touches, and then one game (at Jets?) when Cook was out he got 15+ carries and looked really good. So maybe he just needs some rhythm. On a related topic, I re-watched 3 snaps before that 4th down failure and here are my thoughts: 1st down - Cook makes 6 yards out of nothing, should've been 2 yards max. 2nd down - Davis runs hard and gains 3 yards, but I think he missed the first hole between McGovern and Cybo and it would've been first down if he just hit that hole. 3rd down - Johnson has no vision at all and just runs to the wall of bodies. One simple cut to outside and he gains 1st down no problem. Cooks gets that one for sure. Can anybody have a look on 2nd and 3rd downs if they agree? 1 1 Quote
Charles Romes Posted September 29 Posted September 29 The idea of Tre as a safety was previously laughed at because he was not tough enough and a bad tackler. Though he’s diminished as a cover man, his tackling has somehow improved as he’s acquired that old man strength. Time to revisit Tre as safety. 1 Quote

Big Turk Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Something most people including myself missed at first...the final Saints play on 4th down where Rattler fumbled was caused by Bosa flashing behind and reaching in not Epenesa...another forced fumble by Bosa. 1 Quote

When you make your son a Jr. you become Sr. When you die, he loses the Jr. and just takes the name. If you name him the 2nd, you become the 1st and when you die, he continues to be the 2nd. Also, the naming can skip generations (name your kid after a grandfather, etc) or even branches, (named after an uncle) as long as the name is exactly the same. Useless fact of the day 😅😁 Go Bills!! As the “4th” I can confirm this. I can also confirm that it can be a legal nightmare ate times, especially when the birth certificate uses Roman numerals. My personal favorite was getting popped for driving without insurance because the insurance agent applied my payment to my father’s account. 🤦♂️ 1 Quote
billsfan89 Posted September 29 Posted September 29 My random thoughts Ryan Van Denmark - Looked OK, a strong performance in the run game and OK performance in the pass rush. Pretty good for what is a backup swing tackle. D-line just got gashed in the ground game this is just looking like a lot like last years defense - I know reinforcements are coming with the PED Twins and Ed Oliver and there's always the trade deadline where a decent player could be added but either this team is holding back for the playoffs or this just isn't quite the defense we need. This defense was put in a bad spot sometimes by the offense and they made the big plays when needed but the running game defense was an issue. Cole is up Rapp is down - Cole obviously had a very big play on the Philly special INT but even beyond that Cole had another solid game. Cole after a bad week 1 has been trending in the right direction. I thought Rapp while not tragic wasn't very good either. I think if I am looking at a move on defense maybe replacing Rapp and moving him back into a more "Big Nickel" role might suit him better. Bills ground game overall on offense seems to be chugging along - Saints defense ain't good but it isn't bad. Bills pass protection while not bad seemed worse than it was due to the relatively high volume of 3 sacks but the pressure rates and other metrics were still good for the o-line down a starter. Offense put the defense in some bad field positions and the defense actually didn't do bad. WR's/TE's were OK, it's all been very solid but unspectacular thus far just have to hope Kincaid and Keon keep developing and the team gets reliable production from Palmer and Shakir plus the rest. Overall it is human nature to not get up for a game like this but the Bills gotta open up 3 score leads on some of these games just like they did against the Jets. If the Bills come out so/so against the Pats they could get got in that game... 2 Quote

Dorian Williams is totally lost on this play. And having watched much of the defense back on all-22 he was lost for the entire game. So many big plays can be directly attributed to his errors. It's his 3rd year and the light hasn't come on, I think we can safely say he is never going to live up to his athletic upside. 1 4 Quote
