Oliver coming back healthy will have the most impact to our success overall but he is also the one likely to be least effective if he's not really 100%. His game is explosive and quickness of the first step which depends on pushing off his ankles.

There are more than a few events I sacrificed at the altar of my Bills coming out flat and getting embarrassed - IMO it is OK to put family and friends first.

I think you realized, and it probably goes without saying, but the Bills/Cowboy game I was thinking of was in 2019 that they won 26 to 15 and my Bills put the rest of the nation on notice that they had arrived.

I agree, but mainly because I think Ed’s replacement is a bigger downgrade that Spencer Browns replacement.  VanDermark was effective as a run blocker and that’s our bread and butter.  He may be a liability as a pass blocker blocker but Josh will have to do Josh Allen things in the pocket.  Ed can be a game wrecker that can kill drives.  We’ll need him vs Maye in the pocket.  He’s crafty

Ugh. Increasingly looking like a lost year for Hairston

The Grable thing is crazy and has been under the radar.  Highly regarded by the coaching staff and on track to be our primary swing tackle, and still not on schedule to return - for a concussion sufferred in early Aug!

Crazy huh?

It's called gaming the system. Beane does not want to lose an O-Lineman so they leave Grable on the list. Next year we are going to lose Edwards and McGovern.

This one looks better.

No tape or brace/stabilizer on the ankle that I can see

Things I’d like to see this weekend;

1: Henry under 3 catches and 40 yards

2: NE RB by committee under 90 total yards rushing

3: Maye under 170 yards passing

4: The WR who shall remain nameless under 4 catches and 35 yards

5: No NE ST TDs

6: JA17 at least 1 rushing and 1 passing TD to break Newton’s record

7: Cook 100+ yards and a TD

8: 3 or more sacks by DL

and id like to win the lotto. Thats pretty unrealistic. It could happen. Some of it likely will happen. To see all or most of that, likely isn't going to happen.

You can see athletic tape on his injured left ankle. And he seems to be walking differently on it. I can't tell if that slight limp is from the tape or the injury.

It's definitely encouraging to see the injured guys starting to come back.  They would be welcome additions against a tough division matchup.

That said, hopefully they will be healthy enough to make an impact.  Oliver still looks like he has a bit of a limp.  Not terrible, but noticeable.  If he can't create the same explosion off the ball that he normally does, that's not great for a player that relies on that quickness and explosion.  As for Milano, who knows where he's at.  He's never been the best tackler out there and if he has to wear a harness, that isn't going to help matters.  And of course that's just this injury.  Do we really expect him to be able to get through the rest of the season healthy?  I don't have much hope for that.

As for the more serious injuries, I said it a couple weeks ago and I will say it again now.  I don't think they open Hairston's 21 Day window until after the Bye at the earliest.  It only makes sense.  If they did it now, the last week would be the week of the Bye and they wouldn't be practicing as a team anyway.  So, give him 3 more weeks and see where he's at then.  If he's close, open up the window and maybe we see him by Week 11-13.  As for Bass, I am in no hurry to see him kick over Prater.  Prater has been more than fine and I have not been nervous once when he's kicking realistic FG distances where any kick with Bass has me chewing my fingernails.  No hurry to get him back either.

We have some roster decisions to make as it is with the suspended guys coming back.  No need to rush the guys on IR on top[ of it.

I don’t think this D will hold the QB under 200 yards and allow less than 100 yards rushing. Usually McD takes one or the other away.

Of course not..  That's why I said "I would like to see".  To me though the first one will be the key to game.  Can the Bills take away Henry?
