Sure, but at the end of the day 30 points is pretty hard to do in the NFL and the Bills make it look routine.

The Saints never led in the entire game. Let's not forget that part regardless of what it looked like.

I agree with you. Just think we are capable of more. But we're down guys & don't want to peak too early. I would like the 11 penalties tightened up though.

Got 2 points to make:

1.  People need to stop thinking the odds actually relate to how a game will go.  They’re trying to get you to bet. Stop using it as a barometer for judging how easy a game will be.

2.People need to stop thinking ANY game is going to be a blow out, easy win and therefore we should rest all our starters and get practice squad players playing time.  This notion that we can just roll over a team, so let’s get the practice squad guys some live reps is just ridiculous.   ..and jinxes the team!!

this felt like an ugly game, but a wonderful win!!    Take it all day and move on!   4-0

Go Bills!

Time to get rid of Babich or demote him. McDermott needs to take over the play calling and salvage this defense for a playoff run. Right now this defense will lose us games in the playoffs. Time to reset this defense now before its too late

I'll take the win like others have said but we have a Defense problem. Sorry to say, it won't be fixed. Not with Babich and McDermy. So when the season ends, we will be discussing the non-super bowl level defense. Everyone, and I mean everyone, sees the defense as an issue. Except for McDermy and Babich. Would love to hear someone say to McDermy in a post game that it appears the defense has some serious concerns. I'm sure McDermy will respond with "we'll watch the film". How much Fn film do you need to watch?

Without Bishop's INT, we might've had to do a comeback second half.

Speaking of Bishop, that got to be a huge confidence boost for his young career. Definitely his first biggest play in NFL. It showed why the Bills wanted him in the 2nd round and even looked to trade up for him, as he disgnosed the slowing develping play correctly. I just hope he gets to ID the faster developing plays faster.

Problem is. Mahommes , Lamar, any good qb hits that pass for a td over his head. We’re gonna get roasted on D by any good qb / Good offense.

The one thing that I notice that the Bills D is consistently bad at throughout the McD era is confusing opposing opposing Qbs with their formations/looks. They make young Qbs look like seasoned vets (today was yet another example) and they make QBs who are mediocre or poor look like Tom Brady (Wentz and Trubisky for ex).  This has been happening from Frazier to McD to Babich. Yes we have some big injuries but I think that the schemes and strategies that McD consistently employs put us in a worse position. When we had Poyer and Hyde playing at their peak and Milano at his best we had ball hawks who could make up for these deficiencies but those days are over. Bishops INT was exactly what we would get from those guys at least once a game. Not any more (unless Bishop has finally arrived). When you have experienced a Wade Philipps or Jim Schwartz  defense, McD's just don't cut it.

My thing is. McD Defense even if it’s in his best form. W peak Hyde Milano and poyer. Wasn’t good ENOUGH. It’s never going to be good. Need a complete relinquishing of his D scheme next year. Can someone tell me what if any tactical advantage we have with our coaches vs the good teams / playoffs?

Cook worth every single penny

Cook is currently on pace for 1,704 rushing yards and 21 TDs---2,082.5 yards from scrimmage. 😱🤪 Not saying he'll reach that, but wow.

We are so undersized on defense, especially the second and third level. We love Bernard, but are we serious here. He's a slow strong safety playing in the middle. How long’s that going to last. Benford is normal sized. Everyone else… literally all the 7on7 defenders are tiny.

The defense pretty much stinks. We were finger tipping inch away from trailing, at home, in the fourth quarter, against THAT team and QB. The defense stinks.

It wasn't the greatest defensive effort, but a few things:

1. No Oliver or Milano today. Hoect, Ogunjobi, and Hairston are still in the wings.

2. Desperate teams (0-3) are dangerous.

3. The Saints may not be a great team, but they do have some talented players (Olave, Kamara, Juwan Johnson, Rasheed Shaheed, C Erik McCoy, etc.).

4. Bills are still adjusting/growing on defense (lots of new players---7 new guys on the defensive line alone, lots of rookies and 2nd year guys, and they're trying to tweak some things scheme-wise). This defense will get better as the year rolls on.

5. How bad were they actually? (see below)

NFL teams are currently averaging 339.3 yards per game and 22 points.

Bills allowed the Saints 298 yards and 19 points (so below league average).

The Saints offense (weeks 1-4) is averaging 301 yards and 16.5 points per game.

The defense stopped them on 6 of 10 drives, with two of their successful drives being field goals.

We had 3 sacks and caused two turnovers (well, technically only one, but Boas also forced a fumble that the Saints recovered).

Held them to 3 points in the 4th quarter on three possessions.

Held them to 109 passing yards with 1 TD and 1 INT.

It wasn't a dominant performance by any means, but it wasn't awful. We basically kept them right around their average (which for an 0-3 team is not great). They didn't really perform much better than they did vs. their first three opponents.

Run defense still needs work (gave up 189 today) and there is still a lot for them to learn from this game, but with guys returning and all of the rookies gaining valuable experience and reps...we'll get better.

how many times do you remember our Bills losing in billsy fashion games they could have won

how many times did teams in yesteryear find ways to lose instead of how to win

making plays in crucial situations is how championships are made

the best teams in the NFL find a way to win games they didn't play their best

I think we play each week trying to put our best Available roster on the field  with who is available

Health Matters. Wins Matter. I like winning much more than losing

I may be one of the most  positive thinking posters on this board. our team is not playing perfect football. Just winning football

I'm celebrating that. I acknowledge the flaws though.

And Josh saves McD ‘s butt again.

Biting my tongue that players who COULD play were held out as precaution. Why? Cuz I B word about it every year. Were Oliver, Milano & Brown capable to play? imo, 2 were and they were noticeably absent.😡

Lamar doubtful to return. Hamstring!

I remember many times good teams would "almost lose" to the drought Bills. They still won those games and we lost them.

when was that though …10 years ago…or more ?

Yes it’s nice that things have changed …along with expectations…

Sadly you are right and add to that the lack of adjustments or situational awareness adds to the problem. 13 seconds is the best example but it has happened before and since. If your entire defensive strategy is hoping that one of your players steps up in a situation to steal the game that's a bit scary.

I didn't hear the announcers say it, but it looked like Bosa should be credited with that last forced fumble and sack instead of Epenesa, right??
