Norcalbillsfan Posted September 22 Posted September 22 Dabbol looked pissed on the sidelines everytime russ took a breath of air, yet didn't bench him. I wonder if theres pressure from mara/shein to start russ. That's the only excuse I could come up with for dabbol, otherwise with your job hanging by a thread why wouldn't you put the shiny new toy dart on the field and hope for a spark? Instead of watching your job slowly melt away for 4 quarters. Quote

I'm being a little bit facetious (because the Giants offense was so bad it likely didn't matter), but within the 2 minute drill of the first half Mahomes passed it backwards resulting in a fumble. The Giants defender Okereke attempted to scoop and score, and likely would have if Mahomes didn't run across the entire field and strip the ball away. The game likely goes to half time with the Giants up 12-6 (accounting for another missed XP). 2 Quote

Draconator Posted September 22 Posted September 22 This doesn't bode well for Daboll or the Giants as an organization. 1 Quote

How many QBs throw it out of bounds on 4th with a chance to get you in position. He’s toast and an embarrassment at this point. No heart. Dart or honestly me or you or anyone as QB would have tried to somehow do something. I might have gained a yard or two just stumbling my fat ass around-jeez. 1 Quote

I will give Mahomes props for that play. Stud play and it fired up his team I think. But Wilson and the Giants offense repeated ineptitude sucked the heart right out of the Giants offense. Can he do anything but throw moonballs up for grabs these days? 1 hour ago, Big Turk said: As usual, another game KC tries to hand on a silver platter to an inferior team that simply wouldn't take it. GunnerBill Posted September 22 Posted September 22 Monday morning reactions to SNF: - The Chiefs finally got their run game going which was a necessity as other than telling Thornton "run fast downfield" they are getting nobody open in the pass game; - Other than the backward pass he had to recover himself I thought Mahomes played a really good game. The numbers won't pop but while early last year I thought some of their issues offensively fell on Quarterback play that isn't the case here. It's mainly stuff around him that isn't working. - Talking of Quarterback issues... Russell Wilson is terrible. All dump offs or heaves downfield. He made precisely one what I would call "proper Quarterback throw" to Slayton late on. They are going nowhere with him. If you don't wanna play Dart put Winston in. - Also for its talent level that was an underperformance by the Giants defensive line. They lost too many assignments up front. Given the resources they have poured in - top 10 picks etc - that unit has to be the engine of their team. - It's been a really tough week for the James Cook haters. Not only did we see again just how wide the gap is between him and the other Bills backs but the "Singletary would have been just as good if the Bills had this offensive line when he was here" argument took another hit as he is relegated to kick returner on one of the worst teams in football. And while Skattebo averaged 6 yards per carry and Tracey, before injury, 4 yards per carry... Singletary had 4 carries for 11 yards. 2.75 ypc. He will be out of the NFL next year. 2 Quote
Buffalo Ballin Posted September 22 Posted September 22 Chiefs looked weak vs. Giants even though they got the W. Giants HC and GM are in big trouble regarding Daniel Wilson. Colts got their QB. I'm relieved to have him on my fantasy squad. Quote

I have a hard time believing a desperate KC team.goes in there and loses. Well I mean at least he passed... 3/5=60 percent Usually a passing grade. Where do you see 3? I see Lamar and Mahomes. Hurts is not top 5 imo. Quote

H2o Posted September 22 Posted September 22 Thoughts on this week's games so far in no particular order: A lot of wild finishes. ST's showing up as an achilles heel for a bunch of teams. Keep sleeping on Tampa and Baker Mayfield. Three weeks, three game winning drives late. Yes, Mike Evans hurt his hamstring, but the team is fairly balanced. They are going to breeze through the NFC South. Last year may not have been a fluke. Darnold looks like he has turned into a decent starter. Injuries and all, San Fran keeps on winning. Dallas is a bad football team, and now they likely won't have Lamb for 2-4 weeks with a high ankle sprain. The Bolts may actually be for real. Solid defense and complimentary football. Looks like a Jim Harbaugh coached team to me. The Bengals will quickly swirl the bowl without Joe Burrow again this year. The bad thing, in a way, is Browning is good enough to get them 6 more victories and they will have a middle of the road draft pick. That Cleveland defense is tough, and I mean TOUGH. They will keep their team in most of their games barring injuries to key players. Will the real Daniel Jones please stand up. The Colts are 3-0 and Jonathan Taylor is currently leading the league in rushing. What in the world has happened to the Texans? CJ Stroud has 0 answers right now. The NFC North is going to be a fun division. Minny, GB, and Detroit are all going to neck and neck most of the season. It will come down to division tie-breakers, watch. How bad is Michael Penix? Was this just an off game, or is he that incompetent? A 58% completion percentage ain't getting it done. It would be tough to be a Falcons fan right now. The Giants with Russell Wilson at the helm may very well be the worst team in the NFL. If not the worst, they are second only to New Orleans. The bad part is they have some nice pieces on defense, but nothing is translating on the field. Daboll is likely out after this year, and maybe Schoen too. How long of a leash will Tennessee give Callahan? 3-14 last season and 0-3 already this year. At some point they will pull the plug. Don't be surprised if they try to come after Brady to work with their young QB. Last year it looked like Denver was next up in the AFC West. This year they look average at best and that defense is not carrying them at the moment like it did last season. Jacksonville has beaten two bad teams and Trevor Lawrence is the most overpaid QB in the game. $200M gtd for a 55% completion percentage through three weeks against Carolina, Cincy, and Houston. Philly is still the top dog in the NFC, but the Rams play them tough EVERY time. They will likely see each other again in the Playoffs. The AFC East is bad outside of the Bills. Mariota looks like he can keep Washington afloat until Daniels is healthy, for now. How old is Bobby Wagner again? It doesn't look like it matters. 4 2 Quote

I would add just one clarification/commentary: The Eagles were beyond lucky to win yesterday. But, sometimes its better to be lucky than good. After watching them, I don't fear them. I am convinced the Bills can beat every team in the NFL this season. 1 1 Quote

Daboll was a career mediocrity at best everywhere in his career except in Buffalo. His success here, as we all see clearly now, was all #17. I’m sure he got the Giants gig by selling his ability to turn Jones into Allen. He failed that miserably, and the fact that the colts are getting legitimate starter play out of Jones should be the final nail in his HC coffin 1 Quote

There is a Fanduel or Bet MGM commercial that has the Bills scoring a TD late against Philly to take a 30-27 lead in the last seconds. I'm hoping this is foreshadowing of a SB matchup and not the regular season in week 17. 2 Quote
