Yeah, no.  CBS has a contract to show games, and Romo and Nance (who's usually a lot better) have contracts to show up.  Romo in particular makes a fortune whether he's broadcasting or not.  Their problem yesterday was, it was a boring game except for us!

Tell that to your boss at your next evaluation. “Hey, what do ya want from me? I showed up for the meeting, didn’t I?” Let us know how it goes. 😉

I never had a contract like Romo does.  It would cost CBS a fortune to fire Romo, and it would embarrass their own organization to demote him.  Not to say they aren't having discussions behind closed doors, but Romo has sucked for three years or more now (after such a hot start) and nothing CBS does seems to help.

While Romo’s comment was spot on, I’d be interested to see if the league or network doesn’t have a word with him. He and Nantz together made that one of the worst broadcasts I’ve listened to in recent years. The announcers job is to keep eyeballs on screens…..not to make you question whether your time would be better spent cleaning the gutters.

Remember not that long ago when the media was speculating if the Bills could lose to Alabama?

I wonder if the league or networks was holding meetings with those fools.

Please tell me where I said he should be, or would be, fired?

You were thinking it when you were cleaning your gutters.

We saw it last year a few times as well...Bills are basically giving Allen a break for a week and just bludgeoning the other team to death with the run. No need to put your franchise in harms way when you don't need to.

I could be mistaken, but I thought I recalled either Nantz or Romo saying midway through the second Q that it already felt like the Bills were just trying to milk the clock.

Yup...they essentially try and shorten the game in those situations...lots of runs, short throws that are easy completions to keep the clock moving and force the other team to chew up 7-8 minutes to get down the field if they want a TD, and essentially run themselves out of time.

I had no issue with Romo before CBS told him to stop talking deep football observations and focus on happy-talk because that's what most fans can understand.

I thought it was a sign of Josh's growth as a QB. Believe me it is not all rosy because the Jets Defense, particularly D line and some LBs did give us more trouble than the Ravens did, to the point I think Josh was not comfortable passing the ball for a long stretch of time. But Josh saw what every one of us saw, Fields is not a NFL caliber QB reading defense and passing the ball, and McDermott's wheel house is magnifying those QBs weakness to 500%; result, the Jets offense could do nothing. So Josh played smart, not pushing for anything that could give Jets offense a break or hope. Every time we put a 3 on the board, we squeezed the vise grip a bit more and they could not get out of it. A Josh Allen of the past might risk some throws trying to kill them early. The MVP Josh Allen is much smarter now.

Romo also mentioned during the broadcast, “just win this play/down, move on to the next.”

Allen of today is cool with 1st&10, 2nd&6, 3rd&2, 1&10…repeat.

Is that true? They told him to dumb it down? That was the only thing that made Romo a quality listen. He's a weird guy, and you need his football knowledge to even him out and smooth his rough edges.

Yesterday he was like the class clown who infected the rest of his classmates while screwing around in the back row. He even got Nantz to start downloading songs on his phone. What a mess!

You know what they call three 4-yard runs?

That was after the rest of the country had been switched to other games and all of NY had turned off their TV. They got goofy because few people were watching. Baseball announcers do it all the time after long rain delays.

Just a painful reminder that woefully overlooked Alabama graduate Robert 'HoF' Foster has been denied his WR glory in the NFL, most notably by the Buffalo Bills. 🤨

(Well, if you believe some of the board's members. 😁😉)

Not nearly as much as Auburn graduate Duke Williams was tho.

I saw him catch a TD live against the Titans in Nashville. Entire stadium erupted (because it was 80/20 Bills fans) with DUUUUUUUUKEEE😂😂🤣🤣
