Its a long season.  Teams adjust.  Playing at this level all year isn't realistic.  If history is any indicator, somewhere around week 5 the wheels will suddenly come off and we will be looking completely out of answers for a few weeks.

@ falcons who have a pass rush on mnf is possible

Tampa at home is also possible if you're looking for the upset away from the obvious eagles game. But I think Josh comes out amped for that with willpower to win.

(You all will love this thread on victory Monday)

Seeing how we well we are playing now, that we get a couple of defensive players back in few weeks and assuming that the young 'uns on defense gel by mid-season, I am having a really tough time seeing a loss on our schedule. But we all know how difficult it is to go unbeaten. Also, I dont want to jinx it. So if we assume there will be at least one loss this season, which game has your vote?

Dolphins - naah

Saints - no QB, still re-building

Patriots* - Maybe if Vrabel does his thing for playing  tough in the trenches and this is his Superbowl

Falcons - way too underpowered to slow us down

Panthers - Naah

Chiefs - they should have Rice back by this time so it is likely but I feel we are more balanced overall on Defense and can avoid the typical issues with their offense

Dolphins - they will be thinking about next season at this time, so naah

Buccaneers - a possible loss as they are a tough team and on a good day, can give us fits

Texans - while good overall, it remains to be seen if CJ Stroud can recapture his rookie form. But I dont think they have the overall horses to stop us

Steelers - Again, could be a tough game but Rodgers' arm would be hurting by this time

Bengals - Maybe Burrow will be back by this time but he will be rusty and our Defense should be fully revved up by this time

Patriots - see above

Browns - good overall team but still looking for a QB.

Eagles - first real possibility of a loss with how tough that team is. But if we have the #1 seed locked up, many of our starters will be resting

Jets - rrriigght

So, in summary, I think our first loss could be to the Patriots, Bucs or Eagles.

What do y'all think?

Last Jets game.  We have all our backups in all game with the 1 seed.  I don't think we go backup against the Eagles even if we have the 1 seed at that point.

Things will be different in a few weeks. Nothing ever stays the same. Injuries happen and teams make changes.

Comes done health and ahem suspensions. The defense should only improve

This pass rush might legit be crazy when hoecht comes back lol I don’t think I’ve thought the bills pass rush would be better than slightly above average in a long time

I understand this is a fun exercise, but the recent spate of injuries on the Bills and other teams demonstrates that this is still a week-to-week league.

Assuming Milano's injury isn't more than three weeks, the Bills have been "lucky" to avoid devastating injuries to key players.

IF they stay healthy, I think the Bills will be favored in every remaining game this season.  That's always a big IF.

I hope our next loss is in preseason 2026, but if I’m forced to pick the first one in 2025, I will guess the Falcons. They look decent this season. It’s a prime time game in the dome in Atlanta. It could be a trap game for us.

@eball, you wanna take care of a future conversation right now? 🤣🤣🤣

The first game we lose is the first one where Bosa is out.   With McD and Babich insisting on playing him balls to the wall up by four scores with 7 minutes left in the game yesterday, it won't be long.   Maybe McDumb will have us do another "extra hard" week of practice like last week and have us in full pads on Wednesday again so Ed can hurt his other ankle this time.   smh

Project 1 Seed says we should start 10-0

I know it seems like we always hit a lull somewhere in the middle of the season but what if we've become keenly aware of that and it's in our power to stop it?  What if a mature, height-of-his-powers Josh decides no more of that ish?  "This year, we're getting that damn 1-seed and bye."

Miami is the start of a 3-game homestand. I know upsets can happen and the "ANY GIVEN SUNDAY" slogan with the NFL. But the Bills are a monster at home so they SHOULD at least get to 5-0 before going to Atlanta. You never want to see anyone get hurt but with Burrow out at least 3 months and maybe the season depending on how the Bengals fare without him that Bengals game just got a lot easier. I will say the Bills will lose at Atlanta. The Bills always have "that game" every year where they don't play well.

Pops use to say every time the offense got the ball, "Need to score here!". And when the D came in, "Got to stop them now".

That is my philosophy for every game. Fundamentals are key. Win in the trenches and the game will break your way!

Any game is the correct answer. It’s the NFL and happens almost every week, that a team loses a game they have no business losing.

Under McDermott, it’s happened almost every year. Not a slam but just going with past history.
