Lost Posted September 8 Posted September 8 I was glad to see the Bills actually getting a fair amount of pressure last night at times. It wasn't one of the better performances by our LB group. Our safeties got torched, took bad angles and just got flat out abused last night. Even Benford got picked on a few times. In the midst of all that I wasn't really watching how the rookie DB was doing. What are your thoughts on his performance? Quote
bmur66 Posted September 8 Posted September 8 We didn't hear his name much except for one P.I. call which I thought wasn't a great call. He did his 1/11th. 10 6 Quote
oldmanfan Posted September 8 Posted September 8 I think he lost Flowers on the crossing pattern when he scored. 1 2 Quote

Was that the one where they sent Cole Bishop on a blitz from deep in the defensive backfield? If so, Bishop caused the separation. He ran between the CB in coverage and the WR after the snap, which created the separation. 3 Quote
BananaB Posted September 8 Posted September 8 Other than the one play you hardly noticed he was on the field. That’s a good thing when you give up a forty burger. 1 minute ago, Brandon said: Was that the one where they sent Cole Bishop on a blitz from deep in the defensive backfield? stlbills13 Posted September 8 Posted September 8 I noticed one or two times he was a willing tackler unlike some others. But in general they didn't really test him because they didn't need to. 2 Quote
henry jones Posted September 8 Posted September 8 He was strong!! Didn't look any more lost out there than the other 10 2 1 5 Quote
benderbender Posted September 8 Posted September 8 He had the grapes to actually try and tackle Henry. He gets points for that alone. 9 1 Quote
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted September 8 Posted September 8 I was really impressed with him (and Benford). It seemed like the coverage was solid. As someone else posted, he did give up a crosser to flowers, but that was due to some miscommunication, it seems. Very encouraging start. 2 1 Quote

Iverwig Posted September 8 Posted September 8 (edited) I will say he was good because we didn’t hear his name called a lot or see him in the vicinity of caught passes. Benford gave up some receptions last night. Edited September 8 by Iverwig Quote
blacklabel Posted September 8 Posted September 8 Seemed like he did pretty well. A good first game. Wouldn't that be something if he hits and takes the CB2 job? Then both starting corners would be sixth round picks while the three first round CBs are injured, injured, and one plays for Dallas. Obviously they want Hairston to be the guy for that jorb but it Strong can hold it down until Max or Tre get back then that's nice...and I like things that are nice. 1 Quote
DrDawkinstein Posted September 8 Posted September 8 He did as well as could be hoped for from a 6th round rookie, in a juiced up season opener, against a Super Bowl favorite with a high-voltage offense. Wasnt perfect, but nothing to be ashamed of either. 1 2 Quote
Warriorspikes51 Posted September 8 Posted September 8 he looks the part IMO. Might turn out to be solid quickly Quote
Matt in KC Posted September 8 Posted September 8 (edited) For a 6th round rookie in his very first game... against the Ravens? I think think he had a solid outing for a starter and a fantastic one in that context. We should all be thrilled at the value and contributions! Edited September 8 by Matt in KC 6 Quote

They hiked the ball immediately with no snap count on that play lol that was pretty crafty…I’m assuming he was supposed to creep down closer to the line pre snap really don’t know how guys that get paid millions of dollars to commentate missed that one. Not a full excuse for the defense but the play definitely wasn’t drawn up quite that way which makes it sting a little less Edited September 8 by Generic_Bills_Fan Quote
TFBillsfan Posted September 8 Posted September 8 Pretty quiet night for the rookie which is a good thing. IMO, the PI call was pretty ticky tacky. The crosser to Flowers was his worst play though. I wouldn’t be surprised if he starts against the Jets. 3 Quote
