Run fits were awful and in their defense, it’s tough trying to tackle a small truck in shoulder pads. We won’t see a better run game. Thought Oliver looked like the best player on either defense and even though Bosa didn’t help much in run defense, it’s nice to have a legit pass rush on the other side of groot. Imagine this team with safeties that weren’t lost the majority of the ballgame and could be scary down the road. I’d take Po and Hyde in their 50s over what’s back there right now If this continues I’d be shocked if poyer doesnt end up starting pretty soon 1 Quote

Even if he was still inside the pocket, I think you could argue the contact doesn't rise to the level of illegal contact but ultimately I think they got this call right, or at least I think it's close enough that it could go either way and be justified. Ultimately it really doesn't bother me all that much. I could make the argument that shoving someone out of bounds is obvious illegal contact but its not worth the effort lol. Quote

He was better in the 2nd half but I thought his performance was not very good. Oliver was a beast. Edited September 9 by Bob in STL 2 Quote
stlbills13 Posted September 8 Posted September 8 So safety play is a serious problem isn't it? 2 Quote

I think from a pure pass rushing perspective he had a pretty good night. Baltimore is also the single best rushing team of the last 25 years so I'm not going to hold it against him too much. I think against traditional offenses he'll be good to great. 3 Quote

Tackling Henry 20 yards downfield when he has a head steam is a challenge for any safety in the league. The issue was that our D line and LB's were often being abused at the point of attack. The linebackers are small, they did much better when they went to a traditional front the safety play was terrible man, I mean terribleeeeee Quote

Since1981 Posted September 8 Posted September 8 I’m not a huge #3 fan. Not on field last night. But, I thought he did pretty good playoff last year. LOL he knew how to grab Henry literally by shoes and hung on for dear life. Again, not great but he didn’t get beat on angles etc. just undersized. 1 1 Quote

As much as I criticize our own coaches, that was more Baltimore changing their defensive scheme. Once they went into "kill the clock", they let Josh be Josh. String of bad decisions from Harbaugh, the big one being punting it back to us instead of going for it on 4th and 3. The other being leaving Alexander on an island against Josh. Ravens coaches beat themselves more than our coaches did anything. 1 2 Quote

The amount of times that Baltimore got Flowers one on one with Bernard was concerning. I thought Benford got burned bad a few times as well. Also I hate Bernard in 8. Hard to follow and train my brain that that is a LB. The same but opposite for Benford with no 47. 1 Quote
