Josh Allen turns 30 in May. With the way he plays, it’s possible that he only has three “prime” seasons left.

Beane continues to whiff on the first two rounds in the draft.  For years, he has poured money and resources into a defensive line that is among the league’s worst, and he has yet to add any true elite, gamebreaking talent to the roster.

McDermott is supposed to be a “defensive genius”. However, the defense was historically bad last season. His defenses have failed over and over again in “big boy” games.

Unless Uncle Terry makes a change, these two are going to have been gifted the entire career of arguably the most talented QB to ever take an NFL snap — with zero Super Bowl appearances to show for it.

Would that be a bigger failure than four straight Super Bowl losses?

This thread will end well.

I voted for the four consecutive Super Bowl losses.

So let me now throw some gas on this soon-to-be garbage bin fire....

I noticed you did NOT use the word "led" to describe our current team which is truly "led" by a great leader in Josh Allen.

Josh Allen is a leader of men.

No team led by Josh Allen would ever be nicknamed The Bickering Bills.

His teammates all would run through a wall for Josh Allen.

Why?

Josh is humble to the core of his being.

Josh is not boastful.

Josh Allen wanted to come to Buffalo.

Josh Allen lives clean.

Here comes the gas...

It may be just me however doing blow and visiting discos/bars with your teammates on the week leading up to playing a Super Bowl game is NOT the leadership a NFL QB should exhibit.

I sympathize with his medical condition however he is one crappy human being.

I don't know if this whole post is a joke or for real. And I'm unsure what one I prefer.

Both scenarios are extraordinary flops.  No team will ever get to 4 straight SB’s without winning at least one.  Ahem, except Buffalo.

And no QB in the history of the NFL has won 7 playoff games without at least one SB appearance.  Except Buffalo of course.  When people talk about cursed, this is the high level stuff

There have been a lot of coaches that have held back elite QBs from ever getting to (or winning) a SB. But there’s only been one coach and team good enough to get there four straight times and lose all four.

Holy Crap!!!

Interesting perspective.

Is there some positive in rolling a gutter ball that I simply can't see?  Keeps the gutter clean and you get 3 turns so why not waste one right?

How about the benefits of large tracks of land that are brown fields due to chemical dumps by industries of yesteryear?  Can you grow enormously large tomatoes there?

I will now go get busy in the gardens before the heat becomes oppressive so that I don't upset posters who only know the first 3 letters of the alphabet or got fired from HR Block.

LOL!!!

Have to go with the super bowls because that's over and done with.

Allen still has time and if not for injuries, coaching errors and just plain old bad luck, I feel like he would have already been there.

Focusing on the Super Bowl to the extent that you cannot appreciate the journey as a fan is pretty sad...

There is way to much luck/bad luck that goes into the game for me to really worry about that anymore...

Every year, thanks to Josh Allen primarily, this team is exciting to watch...

After the 90s, then the drought years, and now the Beane years, I just enjoy and appreciate what we have...

Nothing lasts forever...

Even with a Super Bowl victory, people will still find something to be upset about...

As long as they make the playoffs and aren't one and done, I'm a happy guy...

I honestly have to question the overall fandom of anyone who doesn't care if their team wins a championship or not as long as they're "exciting." You can be grateful that they're good and still want to shoot higher than winning Wild Card games.

I am NOT a Sabres fan and see a lot of Sabres fans with an attitude of "well at least we still have a NHL team".

Clearly I am NOT from Buffalo so I don't have the perspective of coming from a once great and architecturally beautiful city that had leading industries like insurance, etc. that became a shell of itself thus requiring many Buffalo citizens leaving for better livelihoods elsewhere.

Bruins fans would tolerate what has become of the Sabres to happen to the Bruins for such an extended period of time.

Must be tough on the self-esteem.

Took me years to get the chutzpah to watch "The Four Falls of Buffalo". Pats bride poured tequila shots. She is a Maine girl. Had no idea what the Bills and the community mean to each other.

Music City Miracle was very painful. Flutie would've won that game. Btw...was a forward pass

4 lost Super Bowls stand out more to the average fan.

Dan Marino played during that era and I didn't even realize he got to one Super Bowl when he was only in his 2nd year in the league.  Was before my time.

Still think of him as an all time great though

There's a lot of caveats to this topic but if I am voting for one as a black and white answer to this question I am definitely voting for not making a Super Bowl appearance with Josh Allen as I still consider making the four straight Super Bowls an accomplishment in itself.

First. Four straight as an amazing feat. Yep, winning would have been great. Winning one and not going back versus four straight loses? I don’t know..those 4 years plus were amazing.

Josh? Kelly and company had a HOF WT, RB, DE, Coach and QB. Josh has a HOF himself and maybe LT depending? IMHO tough to compare teams.

I guess the question is, given a choice and knowing before hand, which would you rather have, 4 Super Bowl losses in a row or Josh Allen and no Super Bowl appearances. Tough question as I don't know what I would rather sign up for.

This sounds like a question my wife asks just to bait me into an argument.

it starts with a good question, pretty benign and as soon as I answer....ITS ON!!!

For example. "Why does our son act selfish?"my answer "he's 19. He is selfish as we all were at that age. It'll get better".  wrong answer and now I'm sleeping on the couch.

Getting to four straight Super Bowls meant winning a lot of games, and a lot of playoff games.  Those were great times.

Watching Josh Allen and winning division titles and many playoff games.  These are great times.

There ain't no "bigger failure" here.

No Super Bowl title with the single GREATEST offensive weapon of ALL TIME would be a screwup beyond epic proportions. Actually, any less than multiple titles will be a huge disappointment for me. I’m hoping this is the start of the dynasty. I’m praying 🙏

Switch conferences and I think we'd have made at least two Super Bowls already.  Have the Bills switch conferences in the early 90's and we're not making four straight Super Bowls.  Sometimes it's just a matter of luck and we're unlucky to be in the same conference as three likely to be HOF QB's all in their prime.

Listen, the Super Bowl for the Bills is not my identity...

Sure, winning it all is the goal, but if you can't enjoy the season without winning the big one, well, that's not my problem...

The NFL is entertainment...

The Josh Allen era is the best entertainment I've experienced as a Bills fan...

I am positive that even if they won the Super Bowl, there would be endless crying about how they won...

and this board would immediately demand a repeat performance, or else
