Keon Coleman in awe of Allen’s leadership, but also love seeing this from the kid trying to beat Allen into the facility and be the first one there.

“Josh is always the first at Highmark Stadium,” Coleman said during minicamp, recalling his amazement. “Workouts start at 9 a.m.—I’d show up at 8, he’s already there. One day I came in at 7:30, still there. I thought I’d beat him and arrived at 6 one morning. Josh was already grinding.”

That's what it takes to be the best. If you think you are going to make it in the NFL just showing up on time and doing the required minimums, you'll be out of the league before you know it and wondering what you did wrong.

Good post.  I think Keon is poised for a breakout of sorts this year, but that’s just my opinion.

What matters more are the signs and facts that the kid is putting in the work and effort when it matters to reach his potential and be the best player he can be on the field.  And what’s been abundantly clear this offseason is that not only has he taken the criticism professionally, but he’s out there doing the work to be the best he can be.  And for a second year player, that’s the most you can ask for and hope that reaching his potential turns out to equal a player who can start and help us win games.

To me on time is late by a mile and that is just as a Regional Manager in a Medical Device Company.  You have to demonstrate to your people you will learn, do, and perform everything they will do.  Keon’s learning from one of the best.  I appreciate he is trying.

Hopefully, this translates to being as close to perfect as possible.

I don’t believe him. I’ve heard several on this forum claim Josh doesn’t put the work in and only cares about golf and doing commercials.

And he absolutely hates kids.

I think that Josh Allen stopped doing as much in the off-season after 2021. He believed, after that moment, that the difference between him and Mahomes was a coinflip.

Unfortunately, the gulf has only grown since then.

If Keon is the guy that he’s looked like in camp, he’s about to take a step. I went Tuesday. He and Tre were the best players on the field IMO. I’ll hold off on the gold jacket until games start but he looked good. He’s limited but that’s okay. If he can catch slants and go, he can be effective. That’s pretty much all Michael Thomas did and he had a great career.

Reminds me of curb your enthusiasm where Richard Lewis always arrives first to lunch to get the best seat. Larry can never beat him there even when early, and says he will wait all night outside the restaurant to get in first next time!

This.

Theres still a lot of punk in Keon imo. Still so much to learn but he’s so immature he doesn’t even know this.

all good..so realistically...what is done that early/ahead of practice (2-3 hours in advance)

Previuos day film review with OC/unit coaches would be the priority I think ..rand eview the exiisting playbook and add plays...as well as review the upcoming practice

...a personal workout...stretching....weights...cardio....massage...some lockeroom bonding-joking while they tape and dress for practice

converations over breakfast with unit coaches, players...pre-practice.
