Chase Claypool speaks out

It seems like biggest issue had been how he attacked being a professional.  That injury was truly terrible timing for the guy.  If he’s taken a big step in his maturation process I think he could make a roster.   I don’t see what the downside would be to bringing him in and letting him compete.  He’s talented enough to be our WR6 if we chose to go that route

He won’t be 27 until Monday. Somehow I felt he was a bit older than that. There’s still time to turn his career trajectory around if he’s committed.

It would be borderline negligent of the Bills to not look at him again if this story is 100% accurate. I have to think Buffalo doesn't see it exactly like this.

Depends on his options.  If another team gives him a better shot to make the roster he'll go there.  Coleman, Shakir, Samuel, and Palmer are pry locks based on their contracts or draft investment in Coleman's case.  There's nothing in Elijah Moore's contract that guarantees he has a spot locked down come this fall so maybe Claypool could push him for that WR5 spot.

I was told something similar with Amari Cooper a few months ago. Obviously it would be impossible to know for sure, but I feel pretty strongly that he would be signed by now if demand existed.

Ultimately the whole toe thing (or "foot thumb" if you prefer) brings into question his sense of commitment.

Don't want to be too cynical, but it reads like it was written by his agent.

 

However, if he really was able to stay off social media for 6 months, it is already a sign he has matured.

Who knows.  Gilmore and Cooper at this point I'm guessing are waiting an injury to earn as much as possible.  Claypool's agent are pry talking to teams right now.  Just not sure how many.

If he's fully healthy like he says, bring him in for camp, why not. You believed in him last year, try it again this year

Definitely.  A players social media page is their business website.  He hasn’t posted anything in a year.  This is what you do when you want a chance.

Why? He is a failed NFL WR who has done nothing in years. He'll be lucky to get invited to an NFL training camp.
