We also did a stupid flea flicker play on offense that lead to a turnover in that first game, and killed a potential comeback. That is on Joe Brady.

Remember how the second half started in that game? The Ravens went 3 & Out. Bills got the ball and drove down for a touchdown.

Ravens get the ball and go 3 & Out AGAIN! Bills get the ball, get to midfield and do a stupid unnecessary flea flicker which resulted in a turnover and put the game out of reach.

That changed the whole game.  We had momentum and if we had scored there it would have been a game.  We were still chasing the game, but at least  we would have had a shot.

Ravens outgained us 416-273. Went 7/10 on 3rd down and 1/1 on 4th down.

Without Lamar gifting us a couple of turnovers there's no way we win the game. Even winning the turnover margin 3-0 it came down to Mark Andrews dropping an easy 2 pt conversion.

It wasn't an easy 2 pt conversion.  Lamar double clutched instead of putting the ball where it needed to be as soon as andrews broke open.  Yes he should have caught it, but you're throwing behind someone in a dead sprint to the sideline who now has to slow down to stay on the field and catch it.  LJ is not without blame on that conversion.

He will get hurt during the season - but unfortunately he will be healthy to start the season vs. Bills. Hope he takes a few games to acclimate, and Ravens keep their slow start streak intact.....

We got way too conservative in the second half.  That's on Brady.  We need to open up the offense this year.  We have a legendary QB.  And we are playing offense like the 1972 Redskins with Billy Kilmer at the helm.

I expect us to be ready come opening night.  The Ravens will be over hyped.  Lamar will make his mistakes.  And lets hope our defense shows a physical toughness that has been missing for some time.  And the offense pushes the ball up the field.  Need to show a whole lot of urgency, because even though it is only the 1st game, it will set a tone.  And you know the Ravens will be ready for bear.  But we need to have a bigger trap.  And just beat them down.

Depends how much he is on the field. If the last 2 years are any indication, it won't be very much...especially going to a team that is extremely questionable in terms of doing things to ensure players are kept as healthy as possible.

Even if he plays 7 games, like the last few years, they are better. The Bills are competing for the bye. If he contributes to 1 win, we’d be better off with him elsewhere.

at what point of the season were they the best team in the league and why should they have beaten Buffalo?

The Eagles were the best team last year.  It’s silly to even argue otherwise.

The team is stacked.  What's their weakness right now?

Lamar's playoff statistics

3-5 record, 1,753 passing yards, 10 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions in 8 games

Another good player goes to a great team. He will help them. I was hoping that he’d stay in the NFC but 🤷🏻‍♂️

In all fairness, he was the 25th ranked CB last year when healthy and he has rarely even been healthy the past 4 seasons.  So he first needs to stay healthy and then needs to see if he can find his old form again.  Benford was the 5th ranked CB last year for reference.

I would have preferred he signed in the NFC too, but this move doesn't particularly worry me either.  If he can stay healthy, I suspect he probably plays better there than he has the last 2 years in GB battling injuries which would be good for the Ravens.  But that is a big if...

  • He has only played in 14 games since 2022
  • He has missed 32 games the past 4 seasons since 2020.

So staying healthy is a real question mark for him, and how well he can play after all these injuries the past 4 years is still a legit question which is why I am not overly concerned about the move either.

FWIW - I know a lot of big GB fans that were not sad to see him go.

Again, sure it would be better if no players went to our rivals.  But, we can say the same thing about the Bills additions - If Hairston contributes to just one win or Moore, Sanders, Landon, Palmer...etc.  Every team can play that game this time of year after adding FA's and Draft Picks - if said new addition can just help them add one more win.  End of the day, Bills are in a loaded AFC, it won't be easy regardless if its Ravens, KC, or someone else.  Bills need to just handle their business because if we don't there are several teams ready to step in front in the AFC and more on the rise.

So I don't really this making our path to the top seed any different.  The floor for the top seed in the AFC this year is 13 wins IMHO, and might need 14 or 15 to secure it.

Week 1 will be a big moment in that battle as it immediately puts one of the top contenders 1 game back and on the losing side of a tie breaker so its more like a 2 game lead at that point.  Bills handle their business at home, Ravens threat for over taking us in seeding takes a big hit.

Even when he was playing the last couple of years he was not the same player as his reputation.  This is a big nothing burger.

Lamar has also 4 lost fumbles in those 8 playoff games.

Two other significant things not explicitly stated in this topic regarding the Divisional Round win over Baltimore:

  • The dropped 2-point conversion by Andrews would have tied the game... not won it.
  • On the other hand their best wide receiver, Zay Flowers, did not play.
