I didnt even realize Martin had been here three years.  In the "old dreary days" I actively followed or punters, recall the quote of the years from Jauron?, "we punted well" or Bills fan extolling the great prowres of Brian Moorman our own Bills MVP.

Now with this offense, punting is about my last concern, biggest concern I have is our special teams coach and punted getting blocked due to mis assignments/alignments.

Hopefully we don’t need to punt this year.

We need someone to punt to our returners because they will need the practice. Three downs and a punt for our opponents all year long!

How many assistant coaches are the Bills allowed to hire?!

As I sit here pondering a thread about a news article about a punter competition... 🤔... I came to the realization that I find the concept of a punter competition so underwhelming that even my interest in trying to type something funny about it just flatlined... 🤷‍♂️

Martin was a stable reliable punter. He didn't have many booming kicks but he also didn't have many shanks either. He also was solid at pinning teams in deep when punting from beyond the Bills 40. Bills just need one of these guys to come in and not screw things up. I thought the Bills would have spent a late round pick on a punter but they clearly liked what they had.

After reading this article in todays BN, I'm rooting for Robbins to win the job.  I kind of like his story better and he may have more upside IMO

Robbins was possibly the worst Punter in the League in 2023. Camarda was picked in Round 4 of 2022 (which is like the Punter equivelant of going 1st overall). He was very good in 2022 and 2023, winning Special Teams Player of the Week honors as a Rookie and Special Teams Player of the Month in 2023. He was cut in 2024 after a new Special Teams coordinator came in and after a little bit of a slump. Most fans felt it was an odd release as after 2 solid years, they booted him after a bad month and a half.

I think Camarda is the clear favorite and the more talented Punter. His performance that led to his release was still better than Robbins' 2023. Robbins' might have a better story, but Camarda has thus far proven to be the better Punter.
