Who is your favorite Bill that was underrated or should have gotten more acknowledgement

So just looking at some of the tenure on our posters lots of history here, I was interested in who your favorite (s) Bills are that just didn't get enough recognition or were under rated (its a slow time of year lol) ..  So, Over 60 years of history here... who are the players that you loved that didnt get the props they deserved for what they did. 

 

I am gonna go in 3 loosely defined era's Early, Middle Current... 

 

Early - Bubby Braxton met him once super good guy was my favorite player in the era. Punishing FB instrumental in helping OJ to 2000 yards, devastating blocker, and had running ability as well. People here remember him... not sure he ever got the recognition in the shadow of OJ

 

Middle -  Kyle Williams this is really end of middle started in 2006, I believe he may have gone to a pro bowl... but this guy was drafted after John McCargo lol, I dont remember a bad game, he was a pit bull and a major leader during a period that there just was not a lot of over all talent on the team.. this guy brought it everyday. We need more like him

 

Recent/Current - Shakir just something about this 5th rd pick, never going to be confused with Justin Jefferson, but he gets open makes clutch catches takes tough hits runs after catch and imo is headed for a 1000 yd year if he stays healthy.  I think we appreciate him as a player, not sure he gets the recognition he deserves outside of here for what he means to the overall WR room.

I remember hearing of him from my parents... probably alive when he played but do have a real memory of it... but from what I have been told he was epic.

I think pre injury Cordy Glenn was generally underrated by the league certainly and even by some in our own fanbase. His first four or five years here he was really good. When the health issues started he did drop off, and using him in trade bait as one of the moves to land Josh was inspired, especially given we replaced him with Dion. But he was a good player marooned on an average team in the early part of the last decade.

Lee Evans.  This guy was stuck w crappy QB play his entire time here in Buffalo, felt like he frequently made plays in spite of that and was a smart player too.

Charles Romes. 9 year starter at corner, 4th in team career interceptions. Not bad for a 12th rounder. Don't think his post NFL life has gone so well.

There are some good drought players who don't get their due because of the bad teams they played on:

 

Terrence McGee, Chris Kelsey, Nate Clements, Aaron Schobel, and London Fletcher are a few. Lee Evans, of course.

 

I also think Joe Ferguson gets forgotten sometimes. He had some good years.

I think @GunnerBill and @Bill from NYC probably get their due. @Billl gets left off of a lot of lists because he doesn't know how to spell "Bill" and the whole Chiefs fan check mark against. There aren't lots of other visible Bills on the board that come to mind quickly. A quick perusal of the member list shows a lot of "Bill" related screen names with 0 posts, so the lack of recognition is on them. I find @BillsVet's insistence on pointing at me unnerving... there are too many others to go through night now without getting fired, so...

Rob Johnson. Probably as gifted as Josh is but not as charismatic and far less pocket presence and inability to take a hit but I know am in the minority but feel had we drafted him instead of Todd Collins in 1995 our history may have been different.

Peerless Price:

 

In the 2002 season, he appeared in and started all 16 games. He had five games going over the 100-yard mark and two games with multiple receiving touchdowns. He caught 94 passes for 1,252 yards and nine touchdowns. His best game came on September 15, 2002, when he caught 13 passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns, including a 48-yard score in overtime, during a 45–39 victory against Minnesota. After the season, the Bills used the Franchise Tag to ensure Price stayed with the team. Price was given permission to seek a trade, and the Atlanta Falcons were willing to give up a first round pick in the 2003 NFL draft for Price. The Bills used it to select running back Willis McGahee.
