There's a baseball acronym, TINSTAAPP. There is no such thing as a pitching prospect.  In football, TINSTAATEP. There is no such thing as a Tight End prospect.

TINSTAWBIP

There is no such thing as winning baseball in Pittsburgh thanks to the system who allows an owner to pocket tens of millions a season.

EVERY Pirates fan knows Skenes will be traded and never get the ace contract in Pittsburgh.

The hype was super high, and he looked like a freak to me coming out. I live right here in Atlanta, so since he doesn’t play for UGA I don’t hear much about him.  :)

I’m like a bird watcher when I have a rare Falcons gear sighting.

kinda like Jax.   all the fans care about is the Gators

While true, most tight ends also take time to develop though they only get to a decent starter quality. Not a premium starter quality.

Kelce, for example, took time to develop and was/is over hyped for a tight end. He can't block and his window was small. Gronk at least blocked in his window and didn't go down in flames like Kelce will holding on to any like light.

Pitts for Kincaid straight up.

Fun fact:  Kincaid is a year older than Pitts.

I wasn't t disagreeing with you.

There are maybe 3 elite tight ends in the league that are difference makers. Thats the problem. The very good are not as good as they get credit for because the competition and equivalency is so watered down

George kitttle, for example, is an elite TE but probably not even top 10 in the last 30 years. Same with Kelce. I don't know if one right end playing right now beats: Antonio Gates, Tony Gonzalez, Gronk, Shannon Sharpe, Vernon Davis and Greg Olsen are just off the top of my head.

These guys blocked, ran routes, and didn't live in a super big passing league.

Can confirm.  A Falcons’ regular season game gets about 50% as much attention there as the Univ. of Georgia spring scrimmage (no lie).

I attribute some of his failure to meet expectations to mediocre QB play

Know what’s really funny about Kyle Pitts?  The players who the Falcons could have taken instead of him…to name a few, Jamar Chase, Penei Sewell, Pat Surtain, Micah Parsons…a truly abysmal draft pick, and a perfect example of why the Falcons are an utterly irrelevant NFL franchise.

Seems like an athletic dude still with a big season in him, almost like Engram was, but unlikely to sustain elite production YoY. Isn't a Y at all to my knowledge, especially in an offense that seeks to be physical at the LOS and run the ball with a higher than avg frequency and effectiveness. So he'd basically replace Kincaid, which is fine I guess. But not a lot of "value" there. Kincaid's potential for improvement might be a better, cost-controlled asset, at least for one more year.

Wait, you’re not suggesting that Antonio Gates or Tony Gonzalez (or Vernon Davis, for that matter) ever blocked anyone, are you?

I'd take Kelce in his prime over all of the other guys you mentioned except maybe Gronk. Plus, he CAN block. He just isn't asked to that much. He has blocked well on screen plays that I've seen. Coming out of College he was seen as a good blocking TE.

I think Kincaid has more potential.  I wouldn't trade them straight up just for that reason, let alone the money Pitts would get 2-3 years earlier than Dalton.

Exactly, and would add Pitts over three years only caught 55% of his targets, and hasn’t improved after his rookie year.  In Kinkaid’s case he’s never had knee problems prior to last year, but admitted this summer he had knee injuries to both knees and tried playing through it.  He also had more receptions for a TE his rookie year than any Buffalo Bill in 65 years.

Bills best tight ends in history using PFR AV have been Dawson Knox, Paul Costa [who was converted to a tackle] Jay Reimersma & Pete Metzelaars, none in Kelce's class.
