Beck Water Posted Monday at 02:15 PM Posted Monday at 02:15 PM (edited) I got to give Josh and Hailey's people credit, there are normally a bunch of social media posts and so forth that have come out from a player's wedding within a couple days. All we have so far are a handful of telephoto shots that all the news outlets are sharing. They've resorted to padding their articles with photos of the couple from their engagement, NFL Honors and entertainment events. If the Bills make it to the Superbowl they should hire the same security team to lock down their game plan and practices. Edited Monday at 02:20 PM by Beck Water 3 1 Quote

Was it sarcasm? If sincere, that seems odd given it appears to be a relatively small wedding and it doesn't look like a large number of Bills players were there (Knox, Shakir, Dion, Spencer Brown who I've seen so far - I would expect the entire OL was invited) You got a NFL superstar and a movie star getting married, they either have to limit the guest list hard, or they have to invite hundreds and hundreds. It seems disproportionate. "Methinks the Laddie Doth Protest Too Much" If you don't think wedding rehearsals are worthwhile or useful => don't have one Other people find them worthwhile and useful => what's it to you? their rehearsal isn't coming out of your savings Gunner, you are so vehement on this topic that I'm starting to picture you with the weird habit of stalking churches, parks, resorts, and other venues where weddings occur charting whether or not there's a rehearsal and whether or not there are snafus to the wedding, to develop those "objective measures" You aren't, of course. This isn't your lane, you're not an officiant or a planner or an event coordinator and you honestly have no idea whether the things are useful or not. So why are you so invested in this? I'm honestly curious at this point. Ha - I don't think it is disproportionate. I made precisely one post on it. After that I just replied to people who wanted to tell me I'm wrong. I'm not. 1 Quote

The rehearsals are a waste of time. Mostly done so the nervous bride (usually) is put at ease. the worst though are the officiants that run through the rehearsal very strictly. That is usually a recipe for disaster. Better off just having a 10 minute thing with some basic guidelines and joking around. Don’t want the ceremony to be too scripted. 1 Quote

And that's one of the practices that makes you such a solid contributor here. You have interesting things to say, you say them, and then you move on. Here, people are responding to you because, well, something struck a nerve. Quote

I'm not sure if they were being sarcastic or not. They were praising Josh for being at OTAs with the wedding being so close. They were also discussing what you would get 2 celebrity millionaires as a wedding gift. Quote

At my rehearsal, the 'Monsignor' was an old school priest who had been the head of my wife's parrish forever and was treated like the Pope by all the parishoners - nobody ever dared question anything he did (I always thought he was an a-hole but kept the opinion mostly to myself). At the rehearsal there was a point in the Mass where my wife wanted us to turn to the congregation and he forbade it - saying God was present on the alter or something and my wife defiantly said "God is everywhere!" making a grandiose sweeping gesture. There was immediate tension - and he responded with something patronizing which riled my wife up even more. I was prepared for my 'temporarily insane, high-strung sociopathic' wife to throw down. The next day, of course my wife made sure that we turned to the congegation at that point during the actual Mass 😛 Quote
