He was in town to see Shane Gillis' show. It was unrelated to his release. I was told he was shocked to get this news today, didn't see it coming.

I certainly did not see it coming.    He was really bad last year for Jacksonville..........but for a team to eat $20M on a mid-level contract like that is a drastic maneuver.   I figured they'd give it one more try and hope that the trash he put on tape was just a fluke.   Apparently didn't take them as long as it did for Beane to realize he was a disaster as a WR2.

My opinion is that we should not go back. The good old days of Diggs, and Davis are long gone. We've evolved and I think there is no reason to bring back Davis. I remember too much inconsistency from him. Yeah he had some absolutely incredible games, but also too many games where he was invisible. Let's just move on and give some of the newer guys a shot.

Recount 1 time last season where you felt like throwing something at the TV because Hollins dropped a crucial ball at the worst possible time or ran the wrong route... now think back on how many times you had to restrain yourself from breaking #### when Davis did that (or maybe it was just me).

New regime coming in wants to clean out the stink from the last regime... I didn't expect it either but I get it. They have BTJ and Hunter to play outside so Gabe and his rehabbing knee are a redundancy on the roster.

If he's willing to come back in a depth role, this is such an easy yes. He's a capable starter that will likely sign for the league minimum.

2025 Option bonus and salary, which is almost his entire compensation package for 2025, is guaranteed. The Jags paid/are paying $24M for 11 weeks of Gabe Davis. Wow. Wonder if the Jags insured him.

Hollins was not a feature of the passing game. Under Brady Davis would not either.  Though depending on matchup Davis offers more than Hollins to exploit coverage.  To me Davis has had more big plays in big spots than big blunders. He has some of the biggest plays a player has had for the Bills in the past 15-20 years.

Every time you sign some marginal old goat player veteran you are taking away a roster spot from a developing player. The Bills have some nice new young blood I want to see on the roster before Davis.

He made his money, so good for him. He dropped quite a few catchable balls here but he also made some outstanding sideline catches early in his career. I would not re-sign him but he will latch on somewhere.

Probably has something to do with being among tops in the league in ADOT.

 

Keon was the leading Bills in ADOT last year and low and behold, 2 INTs (leading the team) when he was 7 targets higher than 4th on the roster.
