The real Joe said in several mock draft shows that, despite obvious athletic upside, he was not interested in Walker.  Something to the effect of "Let another team find out ...."  Felt he needed more lower body power.  But after he became a Bill, Joe has been very positive.  Says he's really happy to be wrong.

To Marino's credit, I've heard people who offered glowing reviews of Walker have admitted that he's probably always going to be topheavy due to his height and length which is fantastic for pass rush but a liability for run stuffing.

Yeah I know the real Joe Marinos thoughts on Walker.

I was just throwing it out there In case there were people thinking that the imposter was actually Joe Marino,

He’s pretty consistently wrong about prospects.

I do enjoy his NFL stuff and he should stick to that

Same awful takes in here and a couple of outspoken posters who were negative against the Walker pick @GunnerBill @Joe Marinoin particular .

Was also happy to see quite a few positive posts as well

Still early but Walker has shown to be a solid pick thus far

I can't find what I said in here.... but I didn't love the pick, that's true. I think some of the reasons I didn't still sort of apply. He is another 3 tech, the plays he has made so far have been primarily lined up there and while I have been pleased with his impact (he has been better than I'd have predicted off the bus, no doubt) it does mean we have a bit of a logjam at the 3 tech position without an answer long term at the 1. The good news is he looks MUCH more like the guy on the 2023 film than the guy who played for Kentucky last year. He is moving much better.

Yes, he’s not a true 1 technique and yes we do have a log jam of 3 techniques.   Lots of penetrators, pass rushers.   Maybe we can pick up a true 1 technique before the end of the trade deadline.  We have WR’s and DE’s to spare, package one of those with a mid to late rounder and should be able to get a good run stuffer.

There's still plenty of time to properly review the draft, but it would be interesting if Sanders/Walker turns into Elam/Benford part 2, with the much lower pick eclipsing the high one.

It won't be as drastic, a mid 2nd round pick being out performed by an early 4th rounder is not shocking. Sanders looks OK which is not bad for a rookie. Walker looks like a steal but the question with Walker wasn't talent for the most part it was health.

With that handwork and quickness why not line him out on the edge. The tackles who prepare for micro-speed rushers will be shocked by walker’s size and power.

Good idea, he's done that in college

would like to see that on some 3rd downs.  Move Rousseau inside next to Oliver

Sanders has flashed though....he had a near sack fumble that was ruled grounding incomplete against the Saints

Interesting that so many here are still calling him a 3T even though he’s lining up as a 1T at least half the time if not more to my eye. Walker can play both.

I’m not sure what more a 4th rounder needs to show to be considered an immediate hit. Even if all he ever is is a quality 3rd DT (what he’s already giving us now), that pick is a winner.

Fans are going to freak out when we inevitably have to pay to replace Daquan in FA next year but I’m in Walker and feel like between him and Ed and whatever we can get out of Sanders, our DT room is going to be a big plus for years to come.

Rather pay a run stuffing 1T with a bit of pass rushing upside than pay for a starting 3T. Substantial price difference between the two.
