I believe that was THE only reason Deone was drafted and perhaps the initial coy talk from the Bills regarding his eventual position was competitive strategy or "experts" looking at how he was used elsewhere than 1DT in college. I am excited to see him take on two OL blockers and allow Ed Oliver to be the behind the line of scrimmage disrupter he was in college. Look I'm going to say that I fully believe Walker is meant to be a penetrating 1 Tech. He's not going to be used as a hole plugger But yeah that they planning to put him where DaQuan is. By most account DaQuan has had a good camp but he's definitely aging out and has injury history. Before his back injury Walker was talked as a first round pick. Here's hoping that Beane got a monster in the 4th round. And by the by, "Dancing Bear" is a fantastic nickname 3 Quote
billsfan89 Posted August 5 Posted August 5 I think Jordan Phillips is a good comp for what Walker could be but I do wonder if given another year or two with an NFL Team's strength and conditioning (and stay healthy) program could he develop into a more stout run defender? 1 Quote
Ralonzo Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Popping this up. Walker is getting some notice around the league despite very limited snaps. Still only 21 years old this season. Could be looking at a core piece long term; his contract year will be his age 24 year where some guys are just getting drafted. 3 1 Quote
Charles Romes Posted September 21 Posted September 21 (edited) When I first saw the Bernard pick replay I thought the guard just missed his assignment. Only on a frame by frame is it clear that Walker faked to the inside before winning to the outside. He won the game for us. Edited September 22 by Charles Romes 1 1 Quote

A couple years in an NFL training and nutritional program and there is absolutely no reason why not, assuming he stays healthy. He was projected as a first round pick by some after his second year in college before his back injury in his final college season last year. He’s got all the tools. 3 1 Quote
VW82 Posted September 22 Posted September 22 Seemed like he got benched for a good chunk in the Phins game. It was ugly in the 1st quarter then we didn't see him until later in the game. Quote
Clockwork Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Making big plays at big times early in his career. I like it. 3 3 Quote

All you have to do is be 6'7" 340 and the NFL will draft you and you will be a millionaire? Crazy Same awful takes in here and a couple of outspoken posters who were negative against the Walker pick @GunnerBill @Joe Marinoin particular . Was also happy to see quite a few positive posts as well Still early but Walker has shown to be a solid pick thus far Edited Monday at 01:03 AM by DJB 2 1 2 Quote

WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted Monday at 02:13 AM Posted Monday at 02:13 AM I don't want to be overly positive...and I'm failing. 😁 But seriously, while I can admit Walker still has his rookie growing pains, his splash plays show incredible upside. Right now we have plenty of consistently ok players on D, I am to take a few gambles for results Quote

Something to the effect of "Let another team find out ...." Felt he needed more lower body power. But after he became a Bill, Joe has been very positive. Says he's really happy to be wrong.
